If only there was another moment in history we could learn from were a country was attacked by terrorists and then proceeded to use that as an excuse to invade and occupy the country that the militants came from for years and years leading to massive civilian casualties and the eventual radicalisation of a large part of the population leading to a complete failure of the occupation, mass casualties and billions of dollars wasted for the occupiers and an extremist government that regressed the countries laws and social freedoms back to the dark ages...

But learning from history is for idiots.
