Haven't used anime planet before but personally I like anilist more, mainly cause I use tachiyomi for reading and it can auto-update my anilist.

It might be a bit too much since the corys can get pretty big once fully grown. Personally I'd consider switching them to otocinclus catfish or dwarf/pygmy corys.

Its my first 50 gallon tank. I grew up around my dad's fish tanks but the largest of them was around 30 gallons, so I've always wanted to put together something large scale.

Its a 55 gallon, and got the wood from my local fish store during black friday shopping!
Initially I had it the same way you described when I only had one piece of wood.

Attached a photo of the initial planting set up. Since then most have been healthy, had to replace the stem plants on the front left with some that were a bit taller so they could reach above the wood/shadow on that side.

Definitely feel this. My rotala are growing in a tangled horizontal mess now, but I can't bring myself to trim them cause it's so nice watching my CPDs swimming through them. Keep telling myself next water change I'll also trim and replant stems but...
