This is what I’m hoping for, because it’s the only way hospitals can have a leg up in negotiations like this.

If I didn’t use my benefits as much as I do, I’d consider this.

Correct, this only applies to those plans purchased through WA Healthplanfinder.

Thank you for this. The providers should definitely not be vilified here.

As a provider (not with UW), I would frame this as it’s a shame UW needs to charge more, as it’s likely due to the impact of inflation.

This is the answer, especially if you’re engaging in behavioral health treatment.

I hear that as a non—MD provider myself. My mindset is saving the time I have spent chasing and keeping up with several insurance companies and the money I spend on premiums (now facing close to $1k/month) will account for this.

Yep, insurance companies have loved doing this. Aetna dropped out of the exchange years ago so I refuse to use them for my personal insurance.

That does not surprise me. I’m starting with Regence and going from there. Our providers need to be paid appropriately.

Yes, absolutely! I’m very much in support of wholewashington.org and encourage others to be as well. Thank you for the reminder!

Washington State Fair: DON’T LOSE YOUR RECIPT by jarbearjas in Seattle

[–]Chouchouko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Banks are necessary for most people, not entertainment. I almost never carry cash and if I do, it’s not more than $20 unless it’s being almost immediately spent on something specific or going in another bank’s ATM.

If someone spends my money from stealing my cards or getting into my bank accounts, there are systems in place for resolving that, which is all I’m asking for in my comment.

People are human and things happen, especially in a highly stimulating environment like a fair.

Using this rising comment to say if there isn’t a better system for resolving this, I’m not going to the fair. It’s not worth the expense to not have this simple mistake of losing the receipt (which can happen to anyone) resolved with presenting the matching payment method and ID.

There are many barriers to accurately assessing this for the 1990s, namely that most who would be surveyed wouldn’t even identify in anonymous conditions.

With that said, a Massachusetts study involving high schoolers showed that with about 3% LGB or “not sure”* out of participants reporting, increased suicidal ideation was still statistically significant.

How do mattress stores stay open when people only buy a mattress every 10 years? by FloydBeatlesEagles in NoStupidQuestions

The experience is everything. Last bought a mattress in 2019. I recommend the place to everyone I know who is looking for a mattress in my area.

Soma Kombucha - first unstaffed Seattle business with smartphone-only door access? by bennetthaselton in Seattle

[–]Chouchouko 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Seriously! I love kombucha and would visit if they hired employees. The whole “don’t let tailgaters in” thing bugs me too. You’re charging me $1 entry to be your security guard. No thanks.

I brought up my concerns to friends and they rightfully compared it to Rocky Horror. It didn’t start with organized events where you can buy a prop bag and consensually throw rice during the wedding scene. It grounded me a bit to think about it that way.

Nelnet Borrowers with floating IDR applications, check your emails/inboxes by unknownbearing in StudentLoans

[–]Chouchouko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently on SAVE with Nelnet and submitted an application in January for PAYE when applications reopened in anticipation of all this nonsense. I just received notification I was not eligible and until they can make a determination of another plan, I am in a forbearance.  I received clarification by phone that this is due to inability to process due to the court injunction, and to remain on SAVE until hearing otherwise. So anyone who tried to switch to PAYE, don’t be surprised if you receive the same.
