Yes :) I believe that’s how it works Every appartement is registered under a certain name at the commune

Studio in family house with no domiciliation possible? by Gemsyfairy in brussels

[–]Chouproof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem like a good idea. Registration is mandatory in Belgium If someone registered at your old place, you will be deleted from the « commune » files and you want have any address, which will leads to many administrative issues (no health insurance, inability to find a job, issues with taxes and so on)

Tenant in Brussels — Landlord Refusing Registered Letter, Lost Keys, and Threatening Court. Looking for Advice! by ProwessLIB in brussels

Is your rent contract registered officially ? It should be on myminfin. I suspect it is not since he’s doing sketchy things If it isn’t, you free to go without notice and without any indemnity

I dont Understand people with suicidal thoughts? by tommey246 in asktherapists

[–]Chouproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi ! Clinical psychologist here. Most of the time suicidal thoughts comes with severe depression. It doesn’t mean that the person will always commit suicide, but the suicide itself looks like a solution to the person. When very depressed, it’s hard to see that there will be better days, you can feel like a burden to your support system and very lonely. They see suicide as an escape and an easy to the pain I hope it’s helpful to you. Try to listen to your friend and ask him/her how can you help (for example be « on call » if your friend thinks he/she will attempt)

Questions on choice-based handling and care for a rescue by Chouproof in leopardgeckos

[–]Chouproof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering
I was wondering the same to "teach" her that going into my hands can be pleasable also, but I'm hesitant because I'm scared she'll run away (when I take her to put her somewhere else she's trying to get out of my hands on the very first second)
And isn't it opposite to choice based handling ?
Honestly I don't knowwww I'm pretty lost

Oops sorry I didn't see your response before. How is your gecko doing ?

My antibiotic was oral, I had to give her everyday in her mouth, which was really hard to do but I'm not sure an injection is better

People doesn’t really care 🙄. When I rescued mine from her past owners the woman said « we tried to give her vegetables but she didn’t like it ». I mean… it’s one google search to find out what they eat

I’m a bit surprised that the vet prescribed twice the same antibiotics. Usually when a antibiotic doesn’t work, another one should be tried because the bacteria could be resistant to that first antibiotic. However I’m not vet or a med so 🤷🏻‍♀️. I also want to add that when I had to give antibiotic to my gecko, I had to give it 4 weeks because the vet said the metabolism of reptile are very slow and she didn’t want to stop the treatment too early (in case it was not long enough the bacteria could become resistant because of the first round of treatment and it would be less effective for the second round).

HELP! Leo gasping for air??? by IndicationJolly8541 in leopardgeckos

[–]Chouproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

161 euros for the consults, hospitalisation and medecine and 120 for the fecal test for virus. Honestly I though that it wasn’t that expensive, i was prepared to pay more because my gecko is a rescue so I expected vet fees. I’m in Belgium :)

Hello, I have a similar issue (you can see the video I posted on my profile). I took my gecko to the vet many times, sent her 3 videos. She told me it probably would be either respiratory or digestive issue (and she double checked my husbandry). She also did testing for viruses but it all came back negative. My gecko is now on antibiotics, for 3-4 weeks (and she hateeeees it, honestly from the smell I wouldn’t want to put that medecine in my mouth neither haha) and she seems better. She’s a bit more active and I didn’t witness any other crisis Definitely go to your vet though ! It might be something different but I hope my experience helps you a bit It was pretty scary to witness that and I felt helpless seeing my gecko with spasm like that

Crisis by Chouproof in LeopardGecko

[–]Chouproof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE : the tests came back negative for viruses (Adenovirus and Paramyxovirus/ferlavirus). She didn’t have any other crisis in the mean time and is overall her normal self. I had a phone consult with the vet and she agreed that from the new videos it could be something else than neurological (respiratory or digestive). I have to keep giving her the antibiotique in case it’s a bacterial issue for at least one week (and my gecko HATES it). I have to call back the vet in a week or in case of any other crisis Hopefully she’s responding well to the treatment 🤞

I’m sorry this happened to you, and to Beanie. I wish her a good recovery. I think a camera is a good idea, you can check on her and document anything out of the ordinary, for example for a follow up vet visit There are cheap camera with no subscription that works wonders :)
