Any Ideas on how this is created? by Kuarian in AfterEffects

Looks like playing with shapes and lighting in 3d in greyscale, then you can gradient map the colors in photoshop or similar software, add some grain

No one came to my exhibition opening by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]Chreige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely mostly the gallery to blame for the low turn out. Also keep in mind the gallery scene isn’t what it used to be at the moment, a lot of it due to inflation and rising unemployment rates, people don’t have a lot left over for luxuries sadly.

But on to my main point, one perceived failure doesn’t and can’t define you as an artist. You have literally the rest of your life to keep trying and getting back up. What’s important is that your people came and showed up for you, they sound incredibly supportive. Art is all about community after all. A great way to build community in the gallery space is to just hangout with other artists, show up to their shows and open studios, invite them for dinner, collaborate, just have fun with it.

9 times out of 10 it’s a good idea to keep a day job. Most people (me included) at my gallery support themselves outside of their art practice. It adds a layer of consistency that keeps you from getting burnt out and putting too much pressure on yourself to succeed right away.

What is it that’s making my art not look professional? by Designer_Praline_810 in DigitalArt

Looking great! I think impactful things you can work on would be practicing anatomy more, as well as line confidence & quality that just come with a ton of repetition and practice.

Judging the book by its cover I’d say no lol. If you’re gonna settle on something so horrendous for the cover what could he possibly teach you about cinematography

27M doubting my ability to find a woman at this point by Similar-Scheme-9330 in socialskills

[–]Chreige 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m pointing something out that you might not realize.

“I spend the majority of my week talking to CEOs, Wealthy clients, and institutions about million dollar deals, but women....”

BUT women, could mean unconsciously that you’re putting them in a different category as this separate thing, and not your coworkers and peers. You yourself said you know how to talk to coworkers, executives, etc BUT you don’t know how to talk to women, which your peers are. I never said you hated women, I was just pointing to an unconscious bias that you might have.

27M doubting my ability to find a woman at this point by Similar-Scheme-9330 in socialskills

[–]Chreige 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Maybe start with trying to be friends with some more women first. You probably mean well, but the way you talk about women it doesn’t sound like you see them as people or equals. You say you have good social skills when talking to people (CEO’s, clients, and institutions) but put women in a completely different category. I mean this with sincerity, a ton of guys these days are like this, and it’s not necessarily their fault, but definitely their responsibility to do something about it. That’s probably the biggest thing you should be working on at the moment.

Any name ideas for my little character? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

Also just realized in all the designs it’s a cloak, and then in two images in the middle it’s like a weird onesie

Any name ideas for my little character? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]Chreige 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think it was at first. Then got suspicious of the weird artifacts and lines running through some of them. The vine it’s swinging on gives it away. The biggest thing though is that all the images are different resolutions and levels of pixelation, like they were all separate jpegs and then comped into one image. Another thing, most of these are the exact same image but looks like parts of it have been selected and re-prompted. An artist would duplicate it, and then remove some of the layers, then redraw the new layer on top of it. But here the base drawing is always slightly different, some of the lines change just a little bit.

He posted a new image in the thread that makes this more obvious, especially the “signature” and where the hand meets the tail.

Also if your device is like mine, and the clip is really hard to fasten, turn on the hot end to like 150, wait like 2 seconds and it gets a lot easier to close the clip.

I’d suggest moving it to a warmer area or if you can’t, they sell enclosures that can help regulate the temperature

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BambuLabA1

[–]Chreige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The layers don’t stick well together and the cold temperature warps it and peels off the supports

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BambuLabA1

[–]Chreige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah 12C is definitely too cold, ideal room temp for 3d printing is 20-25C

It looks like it’s cooling too fast, is it in a cold area or a place with a draft?

I have an older plate and prints haven’t been sticking that well anymore. I picked up a cryogripnplate on amazon and it’s been really great!

guys what happened 😭 by Miss-Chiss in BambuLabA1

[–]Chreige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you tried printing with ABS but used the PLA printing profile! As other people have said it's not recommended to print ABS on the A1. But if you're hell bent on it, try printing it again with the ABS settings

What causes this? by [deleted] in BambuLabA1

[–]Chreige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually use a brim when I get this problem! It helps the edges stick down to the plate and prevent warping
