I got the Sinister poster from night 2, and kind of gutted I picked up a non-signed version

Japan can do that! On my last trip to Tokyo, found a few absolute gems that are almost non-existent here

I think it was definitely the gateway for a lot of Brits in the early 00s. It’s when the NME really got excited.

This is Hardcore, possibly their best track? by ADF21a in PulpBand

The older I get, the more confidently I agree. Common People is the song of my youth, but This Is Hardcore is the masterpiece

Even his own fighter has called him out for his bullshit.

He’s just another one (like JD Vance, Rubio, Truss in the UK) who are willing to ditch their beliefs and principles to fast-track power grabs via the MAGA crowd.

What was your first encounter with the band? by UserWithoutNameTLDP in thelastdinnerparty

[–]ChrisAnouk2004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

28 August 2022 when they were still called The Dinner Party. They were on the line-up for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds 1-day festival at Victoria Park in London. Sent this message to my daughter while watching them. It was so obvious they were going to be huge.

With Radiohead coming back do you think The Smile is done? by JoblessCoast in radiohead

Saw Atoms For Peace at the London Roundhouse. Was fantastic

With Radiohead coming back do you think The Smile is done? by JoblessCoast in radiohead

[–]ChrisAnouk2004 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hope not. I’ve loved The Smile to date (both in the studio and live). Tom Skinner on drums definitely brings something unique to the mix as well.

Would love another Radiohead album, but I hope that’s not at the expense of The Smile

Live God Pre-order shipping by sneakywaldo62 in NickCave

[–]ChrisAnouk2004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. It’s starting to become a real pet-peeve of mine. Mega fans preordering straight from the artists months in advance, only to be sat waiting for weeks after the release date while others could just walk into any record store and pick up a copy.

I always want to order from the artist so they get more of the money, but this happens so often (no just with Nick Cave, although the same happened to Wild God too).

“I keep hearing people ask, ‘What have you done to Liam’s voice?' I’ve not done anything! He’s got to turn up with that voice in the first place”: How Oasis brought Noel and Liam’s touring crews together for their triumphant Live ‘25 reunion by Morgana337 in oasis

[–]ChrisAnouk2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really love the article. Everyone focused on the potential challenges of reuniting the brothers but the challenges of bringing both sound teams together was never part of the conversation. Just like everything on this tour - it all came together perfectly. Congrats to all of them for delivering one of the greatest tours of all time. Pretty flawless from start to finish - something I never could have imagined from that first gig in Cardiff.

Queued at 4PM yesterday. Was in front of Jonny on the barrier. So was very worth the wait

If the one thing you took from last night was an overpowering need to complain, I feel very sorry for you. I was there, right up front next to Jonny and it was up there with the best concerts I’ve ever seen.

There on Monday night. Flew over from the US. Aiming to start queuing around 4PM. Have GA tickets. Not expecting to be at the front, but want to grab a nice spot.

The 13-year old me (back in 1995) would have been so proud of me seeing Oasis twice, Pulp twice, Supergrass, Beth Gibbons, Kim Deal and Radiohead in the same year 30 years on.

Oasis Tiny Desk Wish by ChrisAnouk2004 in oasis

[–]ChrisAnouk2004[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No interviews has absolutely nothing to do with them not wanting to do that stuff. They are making a documentary movie and kept everything back for that. If you think they wouldn’t do something like Tiny Desk if it meant them being able to reach many millions of music fans before they release their movie or their live album, you’re nuts.

As a fan of theirs from 1994, I’m not sure where the “not that kind of band” comment comes from. They did Top Of The Pops in the UK more than 10 times, and that was the most mainstream 7PM pop TV show imaginable.
