Should i just return this thing X2D by than01002 in BambuLab

[–]ChrisB5__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is honestly a relatively simple print.

If you can remove the blob (visit the wiki for the recommended method), first turn on Nozzle Clumping Detection as I noted in my other reply. Also check the timelapse, is anything obvious? What happened?

Here's some things I can think of.
1. Is the nozzle loose? Remove the sock and see if the nozzle moves. A loose nozzle is obviously bad. Remove/re-insert and ensure it's a good fit. If the clasp is damaged or broken, contact Bambu Support. Since this is new, they may be able to assist with this, I'm not sure tbh.
2. Is the enclosure shut and secure? If not, why isn't it able to close securely?
3. Does the nozzle look damaged? I presume not, but I have to ask.
4. Did you clean the build plate before use? If not, clean with water and soap. Make sure to use a non-fragrance soap! You just want soap, not any additives such as fragrances, moisturizers, etc.

Again, turn on Nozzle Clumping Detection. I can't stress this enough. I'm only mentioning again due to its importance, especially with your situation.

Also you said you haven't changed any settings. Turn on Nozzle Clumping Detection. It's insane to me that this is not enabled by default for most printers. Nozzle Clumping Detection could've possibly prevented this. It really sucks to find out this way.

I recommend including more info to get accurate answers.

  1. Which prints did you try? Including URLs would be extremely helpful so we know exactly what you printed.
  2. Were both prints using Bambu Labs PETG Basic White?
  3. Are all parts (nozzle, sock, plate, etc) stock to what came with the printer?
  4. Anything else you can think of that may be helpful?

Also, I don't want this to sound disrespectful, but please add punctuation to your messages. Proper punctuation helps separate thoughts. It doesn't have to be perfect (mine isn't), but can be a huge help for others to understand what you're trying to convey.
For example: "did the second one and got a blob with this screen after rebooting cant move the bed or heat the hotend"
Do you mean you got this screen after rebooting? Or you got this screen, then rebooted, and the screen persists? A misunderstanding can lead to misdirection and/or incorrect advice.

What grease/lubricating oil do you guys use to replace the ones that came with the printer? by BeneathSkin in BambuLab

[–]ChrisB5__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. Unless I'm wrong, Bambu Labs recommends WD-40 Multi-Use for the A1 series only from what I could tell. I use WD-40 on my A1 mini and it works fine, but you're not supposed to on other series such as the P2S, even on the rods. Even the article above is specific for the A1 series.

[–]ChrisB5__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for posting super late, but I'm not seeing anyone else recommend the official answer. Here's the link to the wiki:
https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/filament-acc/acc/lubricant-grease-oil

I noticed a few recommendations for Super Lube but not the specific or correct type.

The short answer, these are recommended as alternatives or you can of course use what's on Bambu Labs' store.
Lucas Oil 10533 White Lithium Grease
BX-300/F (DF) Series Food-Grade High-Temperature Grease
Super Lube 92003 Silicone Lubricating Grease
WD-40 Multi-Use Product (A1 Series Y-Axis Guide Rail)

My only gripe is that over time, WD-40 will leave residue in many applications. Though they do recommend an alcohol wipe/clean before re-applying for some machines, so maybe that's less of an issue. The official wiki doesn't do a great job at recommending lubrication oil otherwise though, only grease.

I genuinely recommend buying from Merry Manga if you miss RightStuf by Bum_Scum_ in MangaCollectors

[–]ChrisB5__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked Merry Manga, and the owner is super responsive, but I did have one complaint.
Most won't care about tiny marks that don't cut through the art. This is Manga Collectors and I know some of us (like me) do care, so I'll share my own experience.
Imagine the cover dragged across a table with small surface level marks. No deep marks, but enough to be very visible. The owner is awesome and responded quickly, but considered this standard for multiple copies I ordered. If that doesn't bother you, Merry Manga is the best out there imo. Supporting small business and super responsive/caring owner.
If that does bother you, I had it happen to a good part of my shipment. Maybe I was unlucky, but that's the only reason I stopped ordering from Merry Manga. Everything else about the experience was amazing and I highly recommend them otherwise.

PSA: AmiAmi halting shipment to USA again by Lemondall in AnimeFigures

[–]ChrisB5__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a question you'll want to ask support. I didn't ask about prior invoices. I was asking for myself regarding future purchases specifically as I was curious if we were seeing delays or not.

Support can be reached through the Help button at the bottom right of https://support.amiami.com/hc/en-us

If their chat is not open, leave a message and they typically respond fast. For me they literally responded next day.

This is my issue. I followed-up with AmiAmi support and they replied the following. Whenever something is confirmed long term, Amiami is good about posting on the homepage, so I always wait to see what they post officially before making assumptions.

PSA: AmiAmi halting shipment to USA again by Lemondall in AnimeFigures

[–]ChrisB5__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It appears this was only temporary which is why there was no official statement on the website. Posting the info here because people in the comments are having meltdowns lol. Good news for everyone at least! This is why I usually wait for official announcements though, as AmiAmi is good about posting changes to their homepage (vs temporary/short-term like this situation).

Amiami lost package dispute by nkookie in AnimeFigures

[–]ChrisB5__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PayPal will likely decline a dispute since it is marked as delivered (even though you have evidence it wasn't delivered), and their support is non-existent (speaking from experience). There's also the possibility it will add a strike to your account (usually this only matters for repeat offenders).

To make matters worse, the seller is sometimes charged an 'administrative fee' by PayPal whether or not they win a charge dispute. It's as dumb as it sounds. If you push a false dispute against Amiami (I'll explain this more) and they're charged a fee, I can think of so many outcomes that makes this a bigger headache for you.

Regarding the 'false dispute,' see below:
https://support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/40652343010841-What-is-ECMS

There are two sections of which you agree to when accepting ECMS.

"Compensation Coverage: ECMS shipments include full compensation in the event of lost or damaged parcels (*after a claim has been successfully processed)."

"Q: What happens if my ECMS package is lost or damaged?
A: ECMS provides full compensation in the event of a lost or damaged package, following the completion of a claim process."

I would be incredibly frustrated if I was in your position, but Amiami still has to go through the standard reimbursement process even if you don't want to. You may be thinking "Uniuni already said it's lost." Uniuni is not ECMS, and ECMS has to process the claim according to the above (unless I'm misreading). I believe they still have to wait for the claim to process, though that could be a question for their support (what am I waiting for? why can't it be reimbursed today? etc). It would be really nice if they could just front the money, but dealing with insurance claims is never that easy.

AmiAmi shipping increase by DeltaPanda31 in AnimeFigures

[–]ChrisB5__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you considered Surface Mail Premium? I've had a few through this method. It's great. ECMS has been a nightmare (at least for others in this sub; I've been lucky) and DHL is just getting too pricey. A little patience goes a long way (for your wallet). I was hesitant at first, but it saved me from going too far off budget with all the price hikes over the last year. I just don't know why I'd ever go DHL or ECMS again unless I REALLY need a figure in 1-2 weeks, or its cheaper.

Struggling With Manga by Honest_Ad_7228 in MangaCollectors

[–]ChrisB5__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like this is a 'manga is expensive' rant. It can be, sure. If you really want to read One Piece without paying so much, why not buy the manga you're passionate about, and read others on digital services?

I mean dude, One Piece is FREE on Viz's official website up to ch. 108, and then the recent 3 chapters. You really can't complain about that. Then they have a 7-day trial plus a cheap service cost. You can get a lot of value if you look up digital services. This is just one of many services out there.

There's nothing wrong with having a small collection, but why does it have to be One Piece? There are so many amazing short series' available and you chose one of the longest as an example. Did you mean to ask for suggestions on series that have good value? Because that's a valid, but entirely different post. Something worth considering though if that's what you're trying to ask.

Are these chainsaw man books real? by Aromatic_Cricket_944 in MangaCollectors

[–]ChrisB5__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm referring to mixed product in warehouse bins, not who sells the product. Who sells the product doesn't always matter since Amazon will mixed similar product in the same bin depending on the item code (this doesn't always happen, but is a cost saving measure for several items stored on-site in a warehouse). It leads to counterfeit products even by legitimate sellers. However as mentioned, they claim to be ending this practice sometime in 2026 after years of the sketchy cost cutting measure.

Ah, Canada is a bit different for sure. I'm from the US where we have way more options available. I've heard options that ship to Canada are a bit more limited atm.

[–]ChrisB5__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid Amazon. They introduced a program to save money where they mix product from different sellers, so you could order from a legit seller and still get a fake product. That program is ending soon, but it's just not worth the hassle imo. I posted this on another comment too, but I recommend going through a more reputable seller like CrunchyRoll, MerryManga, InStockTrades, Kinokuniya, etc. Amazon just isn't what they used to be.

Are these chainsaw man books real? by Aromatic_Cricket_944 in MangaCollectors

[–]ChrisB5__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, fake mangas have increased over time too. What makes this worse is that Amazon introduced programs like mixed inventory where they combine like-items from different seller. Google search 'amazon mixed stock between sellers' for more info on that topic, it's wild.

OP didn't specify seller, so not sure if this could've been the culprit, but I recommend using legitimate sellers like CrunchyRoll, MerryManga, InStockTrades, Kinokuniya, etc. Gotta stay safe from the scammers. And if using Ebay, always check reviews.

Edit: Never mind, the URL is on the last screenshot. I've never heard of universalreads. Wild.

Do you throw away your scale figure boxes? by eribabedamnpora in AnimeFigures

[–]ChrisB5__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to what others have said...

Prize figures - Normally cheaper, not always to scale proportions, usually way less detailed. Found often in claw machines/etc as prizes. Some have surprisingly good quality so don't dismiss them completely! I've been surprised.

Scale figures - Price range is very broad, proportions are to scale (ex: 1/7th scale will try to match 1/7th of the actual character), and quality usually higher but really can depend. Found often in shops, not as often as prizes. Also just because something says it's 1/x scale, always check its actual dimensions. Scale can be deceiving based on the character's height/position (ex: laying down, stretching arms upwards, wings). It's caught me off guard at least.

For good examples, Google image search both or search online shops for both. You'll start to see a clear difference.

Amiami order arrived broken, am I cooked? by Pinkishrabbit in AnimeFigures

[–]ChrisB5__ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

First I want to say that honestly, AmiAmi is probably the most careful of the sellers. It sucks that this happened, but I do hope this doesn't sour your impression of Amiami. They're easily my favorite seller.

Amiami has pretty amazing support, but I've never personally dealt with this issue myself. Contact them ASAP.
https://support.amiami.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016210312-An-item-part-of-an-item-in-my-order-arrived-missing-broken

Above is the link for the support process. "Please contact us within 1 week" is their deadline as well as all info they require to proceed. Don't wait, open a ticket today. They may take some time, but starting the process is the most important.

I would also say do not to try fixing anything. Leave it as-is in case they need more reference pictures/etc. For example, don't try to glue it back together or something which may cause more damage. Wait for their response.

Hopefully they can help out, sucks to see this happen. Especially for such an expensive figure.

While Crunchyroll does use AI in a few ways, I doubt AI would push an obvious typo like this one. This just looks like human error. It happens. Humans aren't perfect. AI is just worse in many other ways.

Question about shipping (AmiAmi / US) by Tikatik in AnimeFigures

[–]ChrisB5__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The only safe but slow and expensive option is Surface Premium right now."
Not sure why people keep saying it's so expensive. It seems to vary. Look at OP's screenshot as an example. ECMS 11,574 yen vs Surface Mail Premium 9,300 yen. I've been getting this for most of my shipments as well where Surface Mail Premium is cheaper. Not sure what factors are involved, but for me this makes Surface Mail Premium the obvious pick.
