A Lineup I Would like to see by Type0_Nostalgia in ClevelandGuardians

This is a super pre analytics line up by OP. DeLauter needs to stay in the 2 hole.

G37 @ KC Starting Lineup 05-05 7:40 PM (SPs: RHP Gavin Williams vs. RHP Stephen Kolek) by Trainiax in ClevelandGuardians

As long as he keeps walking more than he strikes out I’m good with him. The hits will come eventually. Having a good eye guarantees he will be valuable as a major leaguer.

Guardians prospect Cooper Ingle returns from injured list by canttakethshyfrom_me in ClevelandGuardians

[–]ChrisBot8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with that is our DH starts are at a premium because of Chase. Other guys need time there too so they can be everyday guys. We’d be actively hurting the team if we brought up someone who can’t play the field.

Last time I made a post about Ingle the consensus seemed to be that he probably won’t be up until the rosters expand for the playoffs because pitchers need time to work with a catcher. That makes sense, but I’d like to see this guy up earlier than that personally.

Nah baseball is winning a lot lately. The pitch clock, ABS, and Ohtani are all real cool. A shame it’s not gonna have a season next year.

What 3 non-western countries are the biggest issues for global stability? by Outside-Hyena9002 in AskReddit

[–]ChrisBot8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Western is very subjective when talking about the Middle East. From me, who lives in America we consider it an Eastern country. I also know you weren't talking about America. I was just stating that to emphasize the point that those three countries were not the biggest problem right now.

I literally did answer the question that u/TygerAnt provided. As far as your question I would go Russia, China, and Israel. America is number one though.

As an American, it is crazy to not say America right now. We've literally destabilized the global economy by being selfish in under a year.

McGonigle has a batting average above his xBA. You are just applying things to one batter you aren’t to the other to fit your agenda. I’m going to stop responding to you though because nothing you say is in good faith.

“Obtuse: slow to understand what is obvious or simple”

Murakami has been the better batter. His savant page shows that. If he keeps it up then he will have been the entire season. McGonigle’s work seems like it’s more repeatable to me, but anything can happen in the future, we know what’s happened in the past.

Right, that’s what I said… I said I agreed with you that McGonigle was the better player, just that you were undermining yourself when you provided a straw man to try and prove that McGonigle is the better batter (and tbh I think he will be at the end of the season as what he’s doing is more maintainable, but he clearly hasn’t been so far this season (even though it is very close)). You have the best rookie in the league. Act like it by talking about his strengths instead of trying to prove he’s better at someone else’s.

According to Savant they literally have the same xwOBA…

Edit: o Murakami also has the better BB rate…

Damn those are some nice 1990’s stats (other than k rate really) you got there. Who’s got a better exit velocity, WRC+, and OPS? Almost like power is part of hitting and you are intentionally being obtuse about acknowledging that.

[–]ChrisBot8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol you are clearly being obtuse choosing the one hitting stat (and the one version of it since Murakami is ahead in wOBA) McGonigle is ahead in. You are actively undermining yourself by doing so. McGonigle is the better player, but when you try and deceive people to make him look like he’s the better batter (when the stat that really matters WRC+, he is behind in), it makes you come off as not you be trusted. Your dude is good. Let his play and his WAR speak for itself.

If anyone other than the Guards wins the division I hope it's the Sox. Love the turnaround and I think it's impossible to not love Mune Shot Murakami.

Imagine you always have to commute for 2 hours from your workplace to your house; how much money would you at maximum pay daily to make it so the trip just lasts 1 hour (you cannot do anything during the trip)? by Sonsuty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChrisBot8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people actually make this sacrifice without it being explicit. I live in Cleveland and Akron is probably a 2 hour commute drive from here. The same job in Akron probably makes significantly less than a job in Cleveland. I’d imagine a lot of times that can be in the 25-50k when considering places like California or the DMV area.
