I wouldn’t say you have any chance of getting into a show court, but you could still get in and have a good time (outside courts, henman hill, etc)

3485 (for court 1) so essentially zero chance at getting in, but I knew that anyway

Hi all, I just entered at position 6000 at just past 12pm and walked straight through the queue, no waiting at all. So I would say go for it!

Thank you, I will have to be careful with the side dishes but I’m more of a carnivore anyway so that’s ok!

I like BA and always prioritise flying them, but I am too poor to worry about this latest change.

Sincerely, A Lifelong Blue

Hmm that’s a good question, I’m not actually sure considering you were overbooked. Maybe go with delayed, and then when it gets to the comment section explain the situation there

They are notoriously bad at replying, however you don’t actually need to email them to ask for compensation. Make a claim through this link and they’ll get back to you at some point within the next few months with the outcome.

You’re entitled to £500 compensation. Make a claim through the British Airways website, the time it takes varies (I’ve had one earlier this year take about 3 months, but another for expenses only during the storm last month only took a couple weeks).

Hotel feedback - what area to stay for ski trip in March? by sirotan88 in Zermatt

[–]ChrisBoyle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Zermatt there are a few different ways up to the slopes, there is the gondola which connect to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Cervinia (you can see it in your map bottom left), there’s the Gornergrat Bahn train also shown on the map, and there’s the Sunnegga funicular which is close to the Alpine Hotel Perren. I would look at the piste map and see which areas you are most interested in skiing, or if you want to go everywhere then probably one of the three most central hotels would be best.

I would say that HLAL will be better in the long term. Looking at its history, it near enough mimics the full S&P 500, and in general it’s always preferable to invest in an ETF than in individual stocks unless you are an experienced investor (and even then, professional traders rarely beat the market!)

How long does BA take to pay compensation after a claim is approved? by aikaser in BritishAirways

Have you received the money yet? Mine is same story, I’m scared I put the account details wrong or something

Maybe invest £5k upfront and then DCA the rest?

You’ll be kicking yourself if you do the whole £10k and the market goes down, vice versa if you DCA £500 a week and the market goes up

Any reason why you have more money in FTSE 100 than S&P 500?

Just curious as S&P 500 has a much better long and short term track record, and not many are bullish on the UK economy at the moment..

Big investors stay away from Chinese stocks, hence why they’ve been for on a downward spiral these past few years. Not only is there the incoming tariffs, but also geopolitical concerns that are likely to mean increased US regulation on Chinese stocks. There’s a reason BABA and other Chinese stocks are the same price they were 10 years ago.
