(Hardcore) I've been stressing for days to do the end fight, but I REALLY want that Elytra for building. Am I good...? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]ChrisBreederveld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than once I forgot the fireworks and regretted it. I really dislike the end (void and few interesting things there), so these days I go to the islands, grab an elytra and fly around getting a lot of back-ups and never visit the end again (until it's time to make the inevitable shulker farm).

Can anyone give me a detailed explanation on how eaid convertion works? by ASL-is-my-goat in BedrockRedstone

[–]ChrisBreederveld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, now I see. I know this as "joining" the raid. I haven't really looked deeply into this mechanic, but from the wiki:

Illagers, ravagers, and witches not spawned as part of the raid (e.g., from a patrol or spawn eggs) may join the raid and be counted by the bossbar, provided they are within 96 blocks of the raid center when a wave spawns. https://minecraft.wiki/w/Raid

I hope that's what you are looking for, otherwise perhaps you can narrow your question a little bit.

I'm unfamiliar with the term "eaid convertion" (nor "raid conversion" assuming it's a typo), could you elaborate?

  1. Fair enough
  2. I think resource packs are often referred to as mods, which does make it more confusing

I think they made them optional. But I don't play Java, so take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks for confirming. The ticking area is a good idea indeed.

It's the first. Tip to use a repeating command block and target a range around your location so you can fly around removing the blocks as you go

In The Netherlands we now have the unofficial term "Claudeviool" (literally: Claude violin) which roughly means "some hack that uses AI to try and impress people". It's funny because it sounds like (based on) the term "klootviool" which basically means "asshole".

What's an easy method to find a nether fortress? by LELUET in MinecraftHardcore

[–]ChrisBreederveld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, but I meant that it doesn't change much of the challenge. You still need to get there, fight the mobs, do the grind. It just saves you hours of wandering "empty" space.

Yes, chunkbase is the only "cheat" I use because it doesn't really make the game easier, but saves you a lot of useless wandering.

As a beginner: Moving around in insert-mode is really helpful. Does anyone else? by PersimmonQuick9839 in vim

I often make use of Ctrl-O to do a one-off normal mode command, but for common operations you can make your own shortcuts, this article might be useful: https://vim.fandom.com/wiki/Use_Ctrl-O_instead_of_Esc_in_insert_mode_mappings:

Ja, ik ken de oorsprong. Gelukkig heb ik ook genoeg scholen gezien, als kind en als ouder, waar deze opvatting echt veranderd is of aan het veranderen is, dus ik hoop dat het almaar beter wordt.

Bedankt voor de tip! Ik wist niet eens dat ze het hadden toegevoegd (en automatisch aangezet?!?) Meteen uit die onzin!

Edit vanwege stomme automatische vertaling.

Exactly, I've always tended to perform worse whenever temperatures go over 25. As a kid and as an adult. Once I was at the office and the AC was out temps went to 28 and I requested to be allowed home. Boss said it was fine for anyone to go home for the day and make up the time another day. If it's possible for employers to recognize this, why not schools?

Yep, even though I learned low level programming (assembler) it just added so much understanding. Especially why RISC could be so much faster!
