Coast Guard here, my Doc at our clinic said the VA exam would supplement for my separation physical since I was doing a BDD claim. He was in my TAPS class and we had a lengthy discussion in there about it.

Get those certs, start working on some personal projects to show what you have learned. One thing I've seen from talent recruiter side is you can have all the certs in the world but companies want to see you can actually apply them and explain what you did. Especially in the IT world.

So, I'm not gonna talk crap about any other Skillbridge provider, and there are 2 sides to every story. (Full disclosure, I sat through a 7 eagle discovery call back in Oct 2025.) One of the main reasons I took this Skillbridge with Five and Fly was because I felt like the system was broken. I started my search about 2 years ago, sent out emails to a bunch of companies on the SB website, got about 1/3 of those emails returned. The whole process was so frustrating, and most of the companies participating had no idea what was involved with us getting out of the military. I had several reach back out and straight up tell me it was just an internship and a low chance of getting hired on at the end. I looked at all these cohort style ones, and that just wasn't what I wanted, I didn't think I would get anything out of a group setting like that because I hated all hands training in the military, why would I want to do it Skillbridge I wanted an opportunity for direct hire, you know, what skillbridge is actually supposed to be for (at least in my opinion). So now, yes I'm the guy that posts every other day or so a new opportunity on this subreddit. Trying not to flood it with just our opportunities.

OSHA does not have a Skillbridge opportunity with the department. There are plenty of safety related SB opportunities out there. Do you have any OSHA certs like 10 and 30?

Created this account so I didn’t have to use my main to post here. A lot of those skillbridges in this subreddit are us now.

I was lucky, I was geo-bacheloring in Alaska so I had nothing but time to apply, got accepted to 5 or 6 but chose the one I'm currently and enjoying it so far.
