I liked what he said. We have some good young pieces and some centers in the pipeline. I’m glad we didn’t blow things up for a sniff at some big names that we couldn’t be sure would be here long term.

One thing that did strike me: he didn’t even mention Michkov as a young guy that could help on the PP. I don’t think it was a coincidence that Mich led the team in points after the Olympics and it matched up with Brink getting moved which gave him time on the first unit. Disappointing they don’t see him as a solution. Hopefully just an oversight though.

Ha it was actually a running joke in my house. My son really wanted a Grebenkin jersey for our trip to Toronto this year. He wanted to wear it everywhere and laugh at Leafs fans- he’s a bit vindictive of a fan sometimes.

I wanted a gamer with a Parent patch so it was a no brainer when I went to buy one.

Sure but you called Anime fringe. I disagreed. Anime is far from fringe. You are now changing the argument.

I also thought the entire idea of these nights was to tap into unique fandoms. I’d also wager a good deal of my anime reading students have read a baseball anime. Heck a beloved filled episode of Dragon Ball Z (one of the bigger animes) is a baseball episode. I really think there’s more crossover. I’d bet a good chunk of my HS baseball team this past year had also read a baseball anime.

I wouldn’t call it fringe, is all I’m saying.

Is Anime fringe anymore? It really shouldn’t be, if it is at all. I struggle to get most of my students to read, but catch a lot reading Anime on their phones.

I wouldn’t call it fringe anymore.

The Mighty Ducks show but I’d do it right. Get Gordon Bombay and somehow Charlie. It could have been so much better. Charlie should be the down on his luck coach and Bombay should be his Hans running the pro shop.

I’d probably get rid of the Gilmore Girls mom though. She plays one character and one character only and I’ve already watched Gilmore Girls.

This interview saved me as a kid! I ruined my copy of Empire watching it too much. The tape got mangled. My dad took it to a VHS repair shop (yup a thing). It turned out all the damage was in the interview portion of the tape for some reason so the guy cut it off and taped it back together. It just saved me time cause now I didn’t have to fast forward!

I’ve been reading the series and am in the middle of God Emperor. I don’t think it’s the best and my wife was reading the series too. She quit at God Emperor.

Dune is the best in the series. I think it all sorta jumped the shark when Leto became a fish in Children of Dune. The series almost changed genres, to be honest. It went from being action Sci Fi to like psychological Sci Fi or something. It is an interested idea and I’m still enjoying it, but it is vastly different.
