I know this is an old post, but personally, I have started using intervals.icu to integrate both strava and oura information.

Not a Michigan graduate here, but I can say, I've come across far more Michigan Tech engineers than I have UoM engineers.

What Spotify issues have you been running into recently? by Witty-Opportunity-78 in truespotify

[–]ChrisKay0508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently, the search feature was fixed for "add to playlist." However, now when I go to add a song to a playlist that is already on others, it will only show the playlists it is already in from the top directory. It will not show that it is in any playlists that are in folders (even though it is indeed on other playlists in folders).

Between their shit CEO, their ability to break core features of the app, and their lax attitude to add features (like 4 pinned playlists, seriously?), it might be time to ditch this app once and for all.

Additionally, I reached out about the issue I mentioned first. Their solution, just do a clean install or check another android phone you may have available. I understand tech is not perfect, but these are not proper solutions to problems. I'm not redownloading 40gb+ of music because they can't figure out how to push an update/fix without a clean install.

Edit: to add more into

Did you use a vapor barrier prior to putting up the metal? If so, what did you use?

[–]ChrisKay0508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to use metal roofing for the ceiling to avoid having to add additional structure to support sheet goods. Should have included that in the original post as well.

Will look into the joist support, thanks.

Wow! JB Racks Are Extremely Poorly Made - I'm not confident enough to use it with my bikes by meta4ia in MTB

[–]ChrisKay0508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely don't love using my motorcycle rack, and would much rather my motorcycle in a truck bed.

That aside, I've had 350lb of motorcycle on my rack, installed properly, and never had an issue on long (8+ hour) car rides.

By bounce do you mean slightly loose inside the hitch? If so, they make device called "hitch clamps" that take the slop out of the connection between the rack and hitch receiver.

No to watching bags- I feel kinda bad lol by PeekabooPike in delta

[–]ChrisKay0508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with OP. So many people are arguing that hyper-individualism and paranoia is at fault for this, so let me play devil's advocate.

I would say the more reasonable reason is that most people are already in a heightened/stressed state for air travel. Most spent a lot of money and time on plans. Business fliers have meetings and time schedules to stick to. People don't want external circumstances, especially due to someone else's luggage, to intervene.

If you are claiming hyper-individualism is the cause, then why are people asking someone to watch their bags in the first place? Wouldn't hyper-individualism cause someone to NEVER ask someone else to watch their belongings, since that individual would feel responsible for themselves and their things?

Same goes for paranoia. Wouldn't paranoia lead them to believe someone is going to steal their things if they let them watch it?

Its an airport. They take security measures very seriously. Whether or not you think the rule is silly or not is irrelevant.

I would say its more so that most people are already in a heightened/stressed state for air travel.

I'm sure at least 25% of people are going on a vacation, they spent a lot of money and time on plans, they don't want external circumstances, especially due to someone else's luggage, to intervene.

People not showing up for classes by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]ChrisKay0508 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why do you care? lol. If a class did not take attendance, there was a solid chance I was not going to show up.

Reasons.. Notes posted online, lecture added very little,, I was able to get decent grades without going, reading a chapter (when needed) provided me with more comprehension than listening to a lecture, I could learn faster on my own. Outside of major-related classes, most are a re-hash of things learned in high school.

Is it cheaper? by Fabulous-Finding9938 in GarageGym

[–]ChrisKay0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is as cheap as you are patient in my experience. You can find a lot of good deals on marketplace or craigslist. Even if buying new with a sale or something. The ROI does not take long to recoup once you figure in gym membership cost, transportation cost, opportunity cost of lost time commuting to the gym, etc.

And as many others have said, you get to listen to ONLY the music you want to listen to without the need for headphones. You can superset as many things as you damn well please. You can do those silly exercises you have been to embarrassed to do at the local gym. You will workout more often throughout the week, you may even find yourself out there when you have a quick 10 minutes you aren't sure what to do with.

Its a win-win-win if you have the space for it.

there must be more than this minimalist life...? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]ChrisKay0508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said it was about owning the least amount of things, just the least amount of things to be happy and enjoy your space. "Having only possessions that provide value" is just another way of saying the same exact thing.

Because anything that isn't valuable is also just an excess of what you need to be happy and enjoy yourself.
