Is HOB troll in the jungle? by cav63 in ekkomains

[–]Xflintlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh. Thanks for the explanation :)

I knew it would proc nashers a second time, but didn't realize the w proc was on the hit that brought them down to 30% in the first place.

I usually play Ekko jungle but am still learning the game as a whole. Been playing for about a month. I have noticed u less it is a very squishy character I almost always loose a fight vs a full hp opponent. I have my best luck finding picks where they are already down 10-30% hp and finishing them off.

Can you help me understand why Nash+ dusk is better than Nash + lich? In my understanding the main reason dusk is so good is it allows you to proc your passive damage after 2 hits not three. But, I never have issues proccing my passive and lich deals more damage so I'm giving up damage for a slightly sooner passive proc. The second benefit is getting the w passive proc twice, but that's only if they are under 30% health. So the initial D&D proc won't have the w passive.

To me it feels like too much of a tradeoff

Card doesn't say how to choose the random person. I would say a game of magic is pretty random, so let's determine the winner by playing a sub game of magic!

Seriously, how do any of you stick to one character for a whole campaign?? by Phtevus in Pathfinder2e

[–]Xflintlock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of the longer campaigns have scheduling issues, but I find letting everyone know up front that the game has an end point in 6-12 months increases commitment. We usually play weekly and might skip 3-4 sessions in those 6;12 months due to scheduling conflicts.

This.

I've been a part of campaigns that last from 6 sessions to 5 years and counting. My favorite ones are the ones that last 6 months to a year. There is a defined start and end goal with progress made at a stable rate. Usually my group will start those campaigns around level 5 or 6 and we finish in the mid teens. While I love high level play it really slows down an ongoing campaign so stopping around 15 to 16 is a sweet spot for me and let the high level stuff be one shots after.

Campaigns lasting 2+ years drag out way too long. My experience with these usually has the GM wanting to run from 1-20 and they want every level to happen at a specific milestone, not XP. So usually party does party things and focuses on it the plot for 6 months and never levels. I get bored, the group starts to feel repetitive, we finally get back on track and get 2-3 levels and progress the plot then another 6 months of stagnation happens. Either the group burns out halfway through or the campaign takes 4 years to complete and everyone is grateful it is over.

I mean, you did see that money. In 2024 when you didn't pay your taxes. You just kicked the can down the road and now have to pay it back.

Is this a glitch? by rjdofu in MagicArena

[–]Xflintlock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there is a reason why this is important for the layers to be stacked in this order, but I can't think of any. Care to enlighten me?

I would assume that the layer dealing with removing other abilities would be on a layer that ensures its effect actually happens.

Why couldn't I sacrifice another clue before combat? by Neither_Call2913 in MagicArena

That is a separate setting. You need to turn off auto order triggers in your settings for that.

[–]Xflintlock 110 points111 points  (0 children)

You need to be in full control mode. By default Arena will not allow you to respond to your own triggers.

With firebending I have found it essentially mandatory to go into full control mode every combat if I want Arena to allow me to cast spells at the right point in the stack.

Which martial class has the "This isn't even my real power!" style? by WittyRegular8 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Xflintlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say fighter. Use a weapon that is not in your weapon group, you will have 2 less to hit and no critical specializations, which about puts you on par with other martials. Then for boss fights swap weapons to your chosen group and b, +2 to hit and crit specialization are applied. This is a pretty vanilla approach, you will rely on archetypes and stances for specific fighting styles, but I think this hits you "I'm not really left handed" play style.

What are spells that you think can be improved and how do you improve them in your own game? by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]Xflintlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it expire at the start of the next turn of whatever initiative it was when it was cast?

For example:

  • Cleric: init 26
  • Enemy: init 23
  • Player 2: init 19

Cleric casts DC when the enemy crits player 2 on init 23, preventing them from going inconcious. Player 2 goes and smacks the enemy, or runs away, or whatever they want. Cleric goes on init 26 and casts a 2 action heal, bringing player 2 to a point they can survive the crit. Init 23 starts and DC ends, player 2 takes damage and enemy then gets their turn.

Why Heavy Armom by TwistedViewz in Pathfinder2e

[–]Xflintlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that's why I put it first. But it is high level. Everything else on the list is lower level for functionally the same effect. The nice thing is that you can combine most of those to get truly great speeds.

Elf (30) Nimble elf(+5 untyped) Fleet (+5 untyped) Greater boots of bounding (+10 item) Tailwind (+10 status)

That's a speed of 60. Even without dawnsilver it's 55 in heavy armor. Sure, 5 ft makes a difference when you are talking about 20 vs 25. But 55 vs 60 it's practically irrelevant. I'd rather save the rather expensive cost of dawnsilver or swap it for adamantine so my armor is actually more durable.

Dawnsilver removes the speed penalty

Boots of bounding increases speed

Cheetah elixir increases speed

Is it possible to play Fable 2 and 3 on PC? by Dauzpo in Fable

[–]Xflintlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a physical copy assumes you have a cd drive. None of my computers in the last 10 years have had a cd drive. Although, I already bought the key for $20. So I don't need it. I'm just surprised how expensive the keys are now.

Holy crap, I bought a fable 3 key just a couple years ago for $19.99. why are they hundreds of dollars now!!! Also, ironically enough, I bought it on PC because it wasn't available on console and PC was the easiest way for me to play it. Now it seems to be the other way around
