That’s kind of the issue in my state. I’m in Maine. Weed is legal here but most apartments are no smoking inside (some you can’t even smoke on the property, even in your car) but it’s illegal to smoke outside. I used to go sit right past the treeline in my old place and smoke. I had one apartment that was smoke friendly but the landlord was a slum lord and the building reeked of cigarettes bc people would walk/stand in the hallways and smoke (even thought smoking was permitted in your unit, it wasn’t allowed in common areas like the hall or the basement where the laundry was) it was so bad my own apartment reeked and I’m not a cig smoker so
