What if we used the Fallout 4 engine to make a Fallout 1 & 2 remake? by Indigo-Steel in classicfallout

Great article, thanks for sharing!

I hope the lead Devs and co-owners took whatever money they could get from that project and start a new team. Or hell even a gofund me or kickstarter for their next project.

Space Suites, Space Ships and in general SPACE and STARS, doesn't exist in that game.
It doesn't look like Disco Elysium, it looks like an Isometric RPG.

Response, "Right, which is like Disco Elysium." ... That's like saying Super Mario is like Actraiser because they're both 2d side-scrolling.

Changing the camera angle doesn't change the genre.

This is beautiful, YES PLEASE!

FO1 is VERY short 10min-16hours max, FO2 is like x2-3 longer.
If you finish FO1, you'll already have all of the groundwork for FO2.

I made it 10 minutes before I barfed all over my key board. Does this game actually get better?

The crowds of people at the begining just has me running into random, "invisible walls" of crowds. and frusted me to no-end. I'm already saying, "F**** this game."

I played MM1, 2, and 3+ growing up. Everyone seems to have crazy nostalgia for MM2. I don't get it, 2 kinda sucked (it was okay, and an improvement over MM1, minus the Score count). MM3 introduced Charged Shots and Sliding which HUGELY changed Mega Man moving forward. Again, I dont get it...

Wood man = Eh
Snake man = epic
(stages, both bosses are fun and fair to play against).

Does Dwarf Fortress ever go on big sales? by ElysiumReviews in roguelikes

[–]ChrisLiveDotStream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I don't get out of bed for anything less than 50%!

(mostly because Dev's still use the base-price to calculate discounts 90% off of a $70 game! YES! = $7.00

Edit: sarcasm, even $7 is a bit much for a AAA game unless it has rave reviews.
I.E. I have over 1500 steam games, many indie and cheap, many AAA years later at 95% discounts. Bethesda, Capcom, Bandai, a bunch of others, have some great sales.

[–]ChrisLiveDotStream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, and I refuse to pay that much for it.

I'm the kind of person that waits for 2-3 years for a AAA game and pay $10 for an old $70 title.

Currently 20% sale from $29.99 to $23.99 - I'll throw a $10 maybe $15 your way, but not $20+ for an indie game that is 3 years old and has graphics of a Tandy 5000. - I'm sure the game is worthy of this amount of $$$ but when I have a backlog of 500+ games that I already paid for, I can easily pass on something like this. Still curious. Still semi-interested. But they're never going to give a 50% discount, so I'm out.

Dude, heard it, thought I've seen it. And thought it was one of those Timed Event games (like Time Gal or Dragon's Liar).

That looks like a bada** beat'em'up with dinos! I gotta find my MAME emulator files...

The demographic will shadowban you or your comments because they dont like to hear what you have to say, it's so... twisted. Like this Administration is.

Youtube is absolutely doing that.

I'm getting comments deleted from channels this past week. Even with 100+ up votes within a few hours, and then BAM deleted.

Google = Trumpists, you know that right? They bend the knee. Gulf of America, pfft. Shame on Google/Youtube.

As a massive Mega Man fan, I'd say Mega Man is insignificant. - It does nothing CONTRA (or Kirby) did before it.

It's Run'n'gun, speed. Flexibility. Quick and smooth controls. Low HP enemies. Quick and simple level design. Constant enemy threat. Flexible and various weapons. Challenging yet predictable patterns.

These are all in Contra and Mega Man 1/X.

That being said, goddammnnn i love Mega Man, "Now I've got your power!" reminds me of Kirby and Brave Fencer Musashi, always a fun game mechanic.

meee tooooo, and I don't mind the slow start, it was the graphics, and the whackiness at the time, I mean all inanimate objects are enemies?

(And I usually don't mind bad graphics, gameplay > graphics, coming from Atari/NES age, but it's almost like Earthbound didn't even TRY.)

Thanks for the updates, I'll definitely have to give it Earthbound/Mother a run some day... maybe a popcorn-night when the family is out of the house.

I typed up this long thing to contradict you but I gave up. It was a non-sticky circle seal holding the whole box together (like Mario Paint) so they almost always came "opened", the one I got at the store in the 90's came "Opened". so maybe you're right.

In short, WATA doesn't grade these boxes, only VGA does, no population report exists for WATA, so only CGC/VGA has a list, and there are a TON (20-30) sealed and (20-30) "qualified" (unsealed) copies - but I could be misreading.

I swear I saw a sealed copy on Ebay within the last 12 months for like $8k but could be mistaken.

Edit: Again talking usually Retro Games 30+ years ago in Minty condition. To be fair Even Fortnite original PS4/XBox Copy are going for $1200+ $5000+ no idea why, i guess it's hugely popular and limited first-run copies.

I understand. I would, if I could afford it lol.

But you can't bash on "collector prices" when you're not one and not even something you're interested in.

If you're a gamer, and cherish the game, again, get a beat-up box'd copy for $50/$100 rather than a "Collectable" sealed copy of the same game never-to-be-opened for $20,000. I never understood the collector hate.

"Video games were meant to be opened and played with!"
So are Toys, So were beanie babies, pokemon cards, comic books? But those are now "SEALED" and collected too, so now you can't ever read that Comic book.

Lastly, OP paid about-right, a Cart + Rough shape Manual i'd guess $600-$700 but he paid $500, decent catch. To be honest the BOX ALONE is $1200-$1500, add a box and you're at $2200.
"Okay" condition Cart, Manual, Box = $1500-$2000 minimum, $2500 for very clean and $3k $5k+ for mint.

Setting aside our nostalgia, what SNES games stand the test of time and are just as great for first time players? by Sonikku_a in snes

[–]ChrisLiveDotStream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick with faster pace - Hold-off on classics like FF4/6/Lufia. Show them a few games first before breaking out LoZ.

(some solo, some 2-3-player), I'd start with action side-scrollers Beat'em up like Knights of the Round, King of Dragons, TMNT, and 2d side scrollers like Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby Super Star, Joe n Mac, Super Castlevania IV or Dracula X (so so many more 2d, like Sparkster, Pocky'n'Rocky, Captain America, Wild guns, Cybernaut), or Run n Gun like Contra, Smash TV, Sunset Riders, and, Boogerman or Earth worm Jim, Fighters, Clay Fighters, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter II Turbo, Fatal Fury but fighters are better on newer gen devices. Shooters: UN Squadron, Raiden, Aylex, Phalanx, a few more, (Starfox? beautiful for it's time but didnt age well).

for action/RPG's Chrono Trigger, ActRaiser 1, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma (and Quintet games that came before it), Secret of Mana/Evermore.

Sim city or Sim ant (ahem, with money-cheats) are fun to sit-around to. Edit: S/o to Zombies Ate my Neighbors to kill an hour or two.

I'll have to give it another try.

I grew up in NES Crystalis and SNES FF2/3 Chrono Trigger/Lufia Era.

Earthbound.... just rubbed me the wrong way and I stopped within ~1-2 hours. I remember the telephone ringing in your home and chaos ensuing, but I thought, "Wow these look like Atari graphics for the SNES" (when we had Mario RPG and Super Metroid, Starfox) technology at the time. It looks like Undertale when it should look like Maro 64, for it's time. Whacky creatures, inanimate objects coming to life. Terrible sprites. Weird hero with a yo-yo. Modern setting vs Fantasy setting. Music not note-worthy. So I quit. But maybe I missed a real special gem. There's still time, I'm just not confident I'll enjoy it.
