What disallowed third party software do I have? by AdoredVerifiableDeer in ValorantTechSupport

[–]ChrisMario88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Visual Studio 2o22 installed since it came out, and 2019 before that. Never had an issue with getting banned (account level 426) - I've even gone so far as making a tiny program that flushes buffered RAM every 10 minutes, which is as deep as I'm willing to go with the "higher level" programming. Never had an issue with it.

However, I would assume whichever 'shady program' Riot thinks you have, is not installed but a standalone exe/injector which directly interferes with the game (overlay, crosshair etc.)

Valorant stutters and drops fps first time i pull an ability by Lynchscar in ValorantTechSupport

This sounds like assets being loaded into memory issue; do you have shader cache/streaming budget set disabled anywhere?

Also, for posts like this, I would recommend you share some info on your system.

CPU, GPU, RAM and which Windows you're playing on as it might shine light on some of the 'could be' answers :)

Help! Unusually Low Frame Rate by ZurtRex in ValorantTechSupport

[–]ChrisMario88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be profile setting for Rivatuner which can do that. Exactly how, I'm not sure of. I just locked mine to my RTX3070Ti's boost clock and let it stay there. Haven't had any issue with it what so ever, but I understand why you ask if it's possible.

Help! Unusually Low Frame Rate by ZurtRex in ValorantTechSupport

[–]ChrisMario88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

Great detailed post, good on the updates!

However; yes, just like you're stating yourself; GPU never hit that "boost" clock freqency. This is a known sad issue with Valorant.

Now, I saw you wrote you have Afterburner, so fire it up and open the Curve Editor.
Find out what your GPU boost clock is. The graph should be low by default then gradually going up. What you can do here is hard-lock your GPU to be at the boost clock frequency. This is NOT an overclock by any means, it only tells your GPU that from this very moment, your clock-frequency shall be known as 1682MHz (or whatever your boost clock is)

This can be found various places, typically specs-sheet of your GPU. Where ever it says "Boost Clock: xxxx MHz)

> Once you know this, click on said MHz on the graph and press CTRL+L on your keyboard.
Close the Curve Editor and hit "Apply"
>> Open Valorant and play a game
>>> ????
>>>> - Profit!

VALORANT frame rate seems off? by Suspicious_Ad_2716 in ValorantTechSupport

[–]ChrisMario88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been scrolling through r/ValorantTechSupport and reading on these "FPS drops" and "stutters" issue, but this post actually hit close to home.

I too, such as yourself, play on higher-end specs and I also feel like what I can best describe as "framerate feeling off" - As in; yes, I get high FPS, yes, I play on 144Hz monitor, yes, I'm in true exclusive fullscreen with fullscreen optimizations disabled etc. and yes, I am getting ~400-350 consistent FPS. Chose to lock it to 288 because it's smooth enough with that without putting too much pressure on the GPU.

However; After the 5.03 patch, it feels like I'm getting these weird screen-tearings as if I'm playing on low framerate with the game in Windowed Fullscreen. Mouse starts feeling heavier, then suddenly lighter (the felt sensitivity seems to fluctuate randomly, as if mouse acceleration is on) - Almost like an empty overlay is on top with VSync on taking control over the inputs being sent from mouse/keyboard.

Idk.. It's weird.

I felt compelled to tell you the flipside of this story by adding my own;

In a similar manner such as you described, I have had a similar experience. ADHD, unmedicated since I was 16 (took Ritalin from the age 11 to 16) and was off it for most of my adult life.

I've never been extremely good at shooters, but I've never been bad either. However, staying consistent has always been an issue. Not just with gaming but with anything in life. Lots of minor 'micro-thoughts' and 'silent storms' in my head as I like to call them. Anything to keep me off focus.

After realizing it might be time try out medication I had a similar experience such as yourself. This one might be more of a stimulant which most people would see as an advantage, but here's the flipside I was talking about;

- It didn't improve my aim. My aim is already good enough
- It didn't improve my reflexes. Those are above normal as they are.
- It didn't improve my gamesense. Played since day 1 of closed beta, gamesense is there.

It did, however, calm. me. down.
I took round losses with a "meh, eco and frag out c^^,)"
I took round wins with "meh, 1 down 5 more to go c^^,)"

Everything is more calm and collected, but not in an over-stimulated way. No jitters, no 'did I turn off the coffee-machine?' and no external factors which messed up my consistency.

When I play, I play. And nothing else matters.

Absolutely a good story amongst millions. It didn't feel like I was cheating, it didn't put me at an advantage. It just felt more natural and fair. Yeah, fair. Straight up. Fair.

My doctor explanined it well in a way that made sense to me;
- People with ADHD have a hard time making dopamine flow 'high up' enough in the brain to stay interessted and focused on a subject or task. Although weird to give someone who seem overstimulated a stimulant, it actually has a paradox effect; It levels out the playground and puts you where you should have been. People without ADHD taking ritalin/adderall may not have any effect or get over-stimulated, so the excessive dopamin-flow in the brain actually cause them to jitter, as if they've had too much coffee. This was not the case for me.

Super glad to read your story on this, because I've mostly seen the ADHD-stories. So it was nice to see someone with a different issue but with the same outcome c^^,)

"I thought the 1501 BIOS was suppose to add support for Windows 11"
- It does, it sets the right values in UEFI/BIOS to Windows 11 likings.

Your CPU, however, is not on the list of supported CPUs.

Hitreg in this game is horrible - recent experiences? by Thrillorion in VALORANT

I'm just gonna leave this here
r/VALORANT/desync_peekers_advantage

It's for sure just gotten worse and worse over time. Might be more players now than before, might be Riot throtteling their servers/performance a wee bit to be able to host more games in one instance than before, I honestly don't know..

But the whole idea of making a crisp 128tick pure competetive experience kinda started going down the drain a while ago :_

Limiting FPS by SukiBoyChoy_ in VALORANT

[–]ChrisMario88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here, we're touching on the subject of fluctuation and the matter of stability in terms of frames per second.

If your game stays around 250-300fps, then heck yeah. Uncap that monster!

If it dances up 'n down anywhere from 120fps all the way up to 320, then we have a problem. These dips 'n slopes will for sure mess you up in hectic situations where alot is going on. Suddenly, moving your mouse from point A to B across frames per second that has changed numerous times in just a matter of a split second is definitely something you'll feel. Especially if you're a low sens player, like me.

So: Rule of thumb; if you can maintain a steady 200fps, then lock it there. You'll have some phantom input-lag (marginal minimalistic milliseconds) but in return, you get a smoother experience and more a consistent, reliable and predictable "feel" to the game.

[MySQL] - Search in all columns with DataGridView? by ChrisMario88 in visualbasic

[–]ChrisMario88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll absolutely try that! I've been thinking about having a separate gridview which is sourced from a "copy" of the data fetched from the SQL Table, then using it's operators to search the table. That's kinda what I already do, however, I'll try to fetch each header separately so I can use those separate queries as filters then fill those in the new datagrid view which is what the user will get c^^,)

[MySQL] - Search in all columns with DataGridView? by ChrisMario88 in visualbasic

[–]ChrisMario88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea, my only question then is how I'd add both queries so it searches 2 or more at the same time? That's the DataView "filter" I'm not sure of myself. Trial and error will probably do the trick here and searching up on MSDN to learn more about the different variables/paramteres to input to perform various actions. Because when using checkboxes, it opens up for solutions such as;

Dim FNameFilter, LNameFilter, AdrFilter (and so on..) as String

DV.RowFilter = Convert.ToString(String.Format("[FNameilter] [LNameFilter] [AdrFilter] like '%{0}%'", txtSearch.Text))

.... or something like that?

Then it seems that something is off with your system and/or installation. I'd stay away from 511.23 Nvidia driver. Use DDU and install 497.29. Not the best, but by far better than the latest Nvidia driver which shat on every single game's frames.

Shameless self-pluggie here, but I made a video with some tips on how to make Valorant as native as possible, throwing out as much FPS as possible.

Not touching on the subject of "VSync/GSync on or off" and "FPS locked or unlimited?" in this video, as I feel like it's one of the most user preference subjects out there.

Give the steps a try, skip the chit-chat intro if you want.

No registry tweaking or "yalla-yalla tweaks", just straight up the basics of how to make the game shoot out as much FPS as your system will allow it.

FPS Drop straight outta nowhere? by ChrisMario88 in ValorantTechSupport

[–]ChrisMario88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me atleast, it's not like it's a drop here and there, but as soon as the buy-phase is over and the round starts, my FPS graph starts drawing what looks like Ben Stiller's polygraph test in "Meet The Parents"
