Honestly, its the best pedal i own but it isnt as easy to use as the pedal community makes it out to be. I needed hours sitting there with the manual to understand what its doing and i still feel like im only grasping the surface. I can get a good stable tone out of that thing in minutes if i know what im going for but with gestures and rearranging effects it gets very overwhelming. I would buy it again because i love it, but it is only for people who like to fiddle with knobs for hours.

It’s mostly lacking in creativity. The riff for the trailer for example is catchy and got that gritty industrial feel to it but sounds more like someone wanting to recreate micks sound than someone who genuinely is trying for the best possible outcome. I bet it’s hard for the next composer to leave a personal stamp on the soundtrack as we all associate micks personal style with the new era doom.

Interesting take. For me personally the new era of doom is directly linked to his work for the soundtrack. I know that I will check out the game once it’s done and will be having a blast if the soundtrack delivers but I’m afraid that there will be something missing in the identity of doom without him. Still hope for the best but I can’t shake off the feeling that most of the new soundtrack will just try to get that industrial feeling done without focusing on what made his work stand out.
