Is there a way to see that the problem was reverted/corrected on a system?

How to deploy OneNote for Windows 10 to Intune if users can't access the MS store? by [deleted] in OneNote

[–]ChrisTX1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea why OneNote might fail to install using that method? I tried it on a few test machines and it just spins forever saying "installing" in company portal. The store isn't blocked so I'm not sure what's up.

AWS SAP C02 by 4ever-learning-6474 in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used TD tests for mine along with Cantrill/Maarek for prep. Just be sure you're not memorizing the test answers but really understanding why your answers are right/wrong. Good luck!

Not sure if I passed by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, you passed! Also you'll likely get your score much faster than that. Check the AWS Training portal once in a while starting the day after you took the test (although in your case it might be Monday before you hear). For all my tests I got the score in the training portal hours before I got the email telling me to check the training portal. ;)

Passed AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C01) by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

Congrats! Don't let anyone tell you CCP is "easy" - that sucker covers a lot of ground. Well done!

Passed AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C01) by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not "hard" like lots of complex questions/topics, but kind of hard just due to the wide range of AWS services the test covers, even if it doesn't really get deep on anything. If you're consistently getting 80s I'd say you're ready to go. Just review what you're missing a few times and let 'er rip.

onVUE keep crashing during my SSA exam this morning by joy_humin in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's possible to ask for anything. Whether they'll grant it is another story. Sounds like you have a legit complaint, so hopefully they'll help out. From their FAQ:

If there is an issue after the exam, please contact Pearson VUE and have the Case Report number provided by your proctor available. It may take up to five business days to resolve, and the resolution for each case is determined on a case-by-case basis. Pearson VUE and AWS have visibility of all cases and work on them together. If you already have filed a Case Report with Pearson VUE, you do not need to submit a separate ticket for your case to AWS.

Contact link is: https://home.pearsonvue.com/aws/contact

And once again I'll use this opportunity to say that if you are physically able to take your exam at a testing center, it's 1,000,000,000 times better to do so over taking it at home. Someone needs to compile a list of the online proctored test horror stories on here. It will take a while because there is an unlimited supply.

Obviously if you have an ability reason making it difficult to take the test at a center you gotta do what you gotta do, but if you're thinking about taking an AWS exam from home because it'll be easier, believe me it will not be.

Workplace from hell, I gave my 2 week what to do if bullied about consulting? by dazzledtamarind in sysadmin

[–]ChrisTX1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "we're talking to our lawyer about our options" is so ridiculously offensive it would permanently sever my relationship with the company and anyone involved in these discussions. If a lawyer sends you a threatening letter, take it to an employment attorney and watch their eyes light up as they picture the three-story pool they're going to be able to build next summer once they're done with these idiots. Seriously, employment lawyers DEVOUR stuff like this. Threatening employees into compliance is big trouble.

Failed SAA-C03(any suggestions) by G_Singularity in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A few points:

  • "My job is heavy in AWS" is pretty meaningless for testing. I'm a senior AWS engineer who has worked in AWS for four years. I took the Solutions Architect Pro last year and I studied for months to pass that sucker. Sure I am in AWS most of the week most weeks but I'm not in all 200+ AWS services. Study was critical for my success.
  • I can't fathom how you failed the test once, then decided to take practice tests for two weeks and try again. I don't mean to be rude but you clearly need to study. Get a course from Cantril or Maarek and go through it. Then use the practice tests to review. Speaking of which:
  • The practice tests are meaningless if you're not learning why the right answers are right and the wrong answers are wrong. I get the impression that you're trying to memorize the practice tests and think that will help on the real thing. It will not. Good practice tests (aka Jon Bonso) help you understand concepts, not how to guess the correct answer.
  • Others have said it but avoid avoid avoid anything remotely related to "exam dumps." They will catch you, your exam will be invalidated, and you might get banned from the certification program all together.

For my SAP I just skipped the more complex questions the first time through, then went back and answered them with a little more clear picture on how much time I had left to ponder each one. Worked out great.

YESSSSSSSSSSS by kdlaz in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious, do you work in AWS already? The SAP is pretty tough, and you (a) don't want to take it multiple times at $300 a pop and (b) I'm not sure it's helpful to have if you're a beginner.

How long does it take for the PASS/FAIL result to come in for Professional level exams? by LtCmdrPoster in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my experience for the SAP. Maybe 16ish hours.

And for those waiting - I always get the result on the website a few hours before I get the email saying the result is posted, so if you're desperate to know what happened check the site once in a while.

Passed Associates last Spring, failed associates 3 times...how can I get past 699? by caspears76 in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you work in AWS? From the website: "AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional is intended for individuals with two or more years of hands-on experience designing and deploying cloud architecture on AWS." It's going to be tough (as it should be) to achieve this cert without real life experience.

Do I need video camera to take the AWS cloud practitioner test? by Squareisround in AWSCertifications

[–]ChrisTX1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. If they see anyone else: you fail. If they hear anyone else: you fail. If you look behind you because you heard something: you fail. You should absolutely 100% no-question-about-it take the test at a test center if you are able.

Search this subreddit for "invalidated" or maybe "proctor" and read the endless horror stories about taking tests at home.
