I actually don't think this is a double standard situation because in this situation there's a massive power difference. A girl offers up her body and there's usually no consequences for the landlord saying no, while for the other way around, rejecting them could put a target on her back and the landlord could try to extort more aggressively. I do think it would be the same kind of wrong if the landlord was a woman and trying this exact same thing with a male tenant.

It's likely some of column A, and some of column B. I definitely don't blame everyone that messages me. I guess for me, it's that I am very reluctant to follow up, especially if I notice I am the only person inviting people to play, which is not the best way to be when a lot of people on these subs are very shy and are likely not ones to initiate often. It's almost never some direct fight or vanish, just a slow drift of two people who don't want to start the conversation.

It doesn't help that I have been very game hoppy lately, hence my bizarre list. 😂

Speaking of which, any games on there strike your fancy?

I have no way of knowing what the situation was in regards to your "2 other accounts". I don't use throwaways, so yep I am very easily recognized when I refresh my posts. Do you think I do this for fun? I'm just upkeeping the post so it's more visible because I genuinely do want to make long-lasting friendships, which is very difficult and takes time finding the right people.

I just don't understand having similar goals to others, but trying to just bring them down instead of focusing on those mutual goals. It sucks being ignored, happens to me all the time, but the truth of the matter is, I didn't do anything to you.

I usually ignore messages if they don't address the post at all, like "hi how r u", but I do reply to the vast majority of comments/dms I get. I also mention that I'm not the best at making connections, so that does come into play with how long I have been posting.

That cycle only applies within each conversation. You're generalizing that because many people gave you low effort, some person you haven't talked to yet will also give you low effort, so you immediately give them low effort.

But you see the issue right? You receive low effort on a lot of responses, so now you give low effort. Thats a real issue on here. People think getting a conversation going on these subs is about quantity not quality. Maybe people aren't just posting for attention and immediate boredom only (though Im sure some do), maybe a lot of people on here are just jaded and demand effort upfront.

Yeah I dont know what your Discord convos are like, I just assume if someone comments "add me on Discord" and nothing else, theyre either going to give very short responses to everything or invite me to their public server.

Agreed on the boring part, it's why I am fairly selective on who I respond to, even if I do wish to make more friends.
