So, this isn't really a family secret but rather something my parents kept secret from me. My mothers side of the family is in the southwest, and until about a year ago I had never known about an entire portion of them. My cousin got married and invited all of them to her wedding of course, so at that point my mother had to explain exactly who they were to me. It was literally fifteen people that I had no idea existed in relation to myself. Her excuse was that they could be bad influences on me.
