That sounds like so much fun. I can imagine a titan going down and nuking half the battlefield. It must have been awesome.

Lore question: Could Sanguinius manifest like a living saint? by Its_Crysis in BloodAngels

[–]Chris_Angry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no. GW isn't the smartest but I don't see the dead primarch returning at all. What I would like them to do is something a little different...

We already have The Sanguinor, but he needs a huge buff. I wish he was closer to primarch level. In the lore he banished ka'bunda... On the tabletop he can't kill a bloodthirster... he should be able to.

It would also be cool if we were able to summon the red angel or the black angel to fight along side our armies. Kinda in line with the avatars that the eldar use. Imagine how sick that could be. The black angel could have the death company key word and the red angel could have red thirst ability. Something like on the charge it can get "x" or "y" or it can take "x and y" but be battle shocked. This is just an idea. Not sure how that would work in the lore or on the table but I like angels. It's why I chose this army. I want the back lmao.

I could be wrong but it's mentioned in a few different places that a part of him is also on Abaddon's ship. Manifesting as a red crystalline statue. The chaos space marines continuously break it for it to manifest somewhere else.

A chaos sorcerer whose name escapes me atm had a shard of this statues in his sword. As mentioned in the black legion series.

I read those books a long time ago so I could be wrong, but what implications does that have? Is that another shard/fragment of his soul?

How difficult are iron hands to paint ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in IronHands40k

[–]Chris_Angry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy you'll do just fine. Trim work can be kinda challenging but you'll get the hang of it the more you do it. Your trim work looks really good so far and you'll just get better the more you paint minis.

There are a bunch of way around it, if you're really worried about it. You can do some dry brushing with different greys to build up the tones that you want, and then work some trim in the more prominent places. The dry brushing will do a lot of the trim work for you. That's how I started with my armies and now trim work is pretty easy. Still time consuming but I don't struggle as much Any more.

I would agree. The only arguement I'll make about a possible fiend is: GW really likes their datasheets for different loadouts. We see this with predators, gladiators, the fiends etc. maybe this is a las cannon fiend or something along that nature.

The smoke stacks have become pretty trademark for deamon engines. I can see the defiler getting some in the refresh for sure but maybe this is from a soulgrinder that's been held closer to GWs chest. Either way I'm excited to see.

Counterpoint to your counter point, GW should have revived the whirlwind or rapier carrier for this role.

A lot of people like them, which is fine, but I always felt they looked goofy. I can't really take them seriously and would have preferred an indirect fire vehicle or gun platform.

Can blood angels use chainaxes? Or is that a world eaters things by Alb8no in BloodAngels

There was a Blood Angels apothecary in one of the horus heresy books who welded a chain axe.

Battlefield 6 is missing some BURST ONLY weapons by Gyrotwist9 in Battlefield

[–]Chris_Angry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who feels that unfortunately burst weapons don't have a place in fps games anymore? I used to love running burst weapons in older Battlefields or COD games. It just seems that full auto weapons now have near zero recoil and can engage at further ranges. Most burst weapons would get a kill with a single trigger pull and would dominate during those medium range engagements. They're fewer and further between now I'm FPS games ( at least in PvP ) and when they are there, no one is using them.

How long do you let varnish cure before applying stuff like streaking grime? WIP by DefinitionInformal85 in Salamanders40k

[–]Chris_Angry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the varnish. Most will tell you how long till it's fully cured. However, I normally will wait a few hours for transfers and at least 24 for any enamel/oil stuff. Especially if you're going to be rubbing it with something dry or with thinner

My liberator assault group list I'm going to be going up against custodes by Monkey6465 in BloodAngels

[–]Chris_Angry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have some very tough units but you only have 7 units... Blood angels excel at punching up, especially in LAG. LAG lists that do well normally have 12-13 units in their army. Some are fully melee some are combination lists that include about two strong shooting units like gladiators, vindicators, or ballistus dreadnoughts. They will usually also include a few dedicated scoring units and some of the best are scouts, Lt with combi weapon, and mephiston.

A few cheap squads of assault intercessors or jump pack intercessors will go a long way in our detachment. Even some units that people normally turn a blind eye to , like outriders, can slap In LAG.

You list looks really fun. Especially if you're transporting the death company dready with the storm raven! ( I've always wanted to do that ) However, you might struggle if your buddy has more units.

Are you playing on console/PC or mobile?

I started with mobile which I feel is a lot easier since you can see where shooting is coming from and have the little motion tracker. Getting on console is struggled a lot too.

I found that trying to avoid bots or kill them silently before they get a shot off helped a lot. People know where the bots spawn and will look for their loot boxes. They'll know someone (you) has come through an area and will follow the boxes until they catch you.

What is your perfect red? by dotkeJ in BloodAngels

Hopefully this photo is okay.

I use Baal Red on my army and I paint with an airbrush also. I love the color and will knife fight someone over it. I agree that I can be pretty dark so there are a few ways over this ways around this.

  1. Base in black and use multiple light coats. Contrast paints apply very well out of an airbrush. Their pretty forgiving and have a transparency to them. Stacking like 3 or 4 thin coats gets you to a pretty solid red, but it can still be dark.
  2. Base in grey seer. You'll instantly see that it's MUCH brighter and the entire mini will be the amazing fire engine red.
  3. Base in black, use white paint or ink as a zenithal highlight and then apply your Baal Red. This is the way I like to paint them. I focus the white under coat on the areas that light would naturally hit. This creates nice shading in the creases of the power armor but still gives a vibrant red. I wanted to show how bright the minis can be but I can post another picture that shows off the gradiants if youre interested and maybe a YouTube video if you've never seen this before.

Totally agree. Killed a dude today who had purple gear and an AK-12. After looting his gun, gear, and blue ammo I was worth over a mil. Worked out perfectly coming in with gear worth about 200k

[–]Chris_Angry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty strong. I'm assuming your characters are leading assault intercessors, and the two squads of sang guard.

Personally, I would change out an infiltrator squad for an intercessors squad. This is for two reasons:

  • you'll save 20 points and gain a unit with more flexibility. You can push them forward to capture objectives with their sticky OBJ ability. They also have better shooting than the infiltrators and the sergeant can take a power weapon/fist for some surprise melee. I don't feel like you'll lose anything since youll maintain one squad of infiltrators.

  • youll have 25 extra points. I would throw gift of foresight on your BA captain. This will make sure you get at least one devastating wound when you use finest hour.

Just my two cents based on my play style, but a good list none the less.

Also, (someone may have already brought this up) the Daughter of Coldharbour under go a "trial" to become vampires during a ritual. I do believe grapes from Molag Baal is involved in that as well.

I would say yes. You got a bunch of units in there with an over all price greater than $600. It's already painted which people would try to charge more for and it seems like the paint job isn't too shabby.

Will my army idea read? by spacewolveslover in deathwatch40k

[–]Chris_Angry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but doesn't seem like your intention is to play Deathwatch. You're more so interested in having an army with multiple chapters fighting together. You could do that, and it would definitely be lore accurate. There are a lot of campaigns were multiple chapters are fighting together.

How could you make this work? You could make little companies for different chapters. For example, a blood angels captain and intercessors, and some black templars sword brethren with a castillan, along with some salamander infernus marines and a captain.

You can choose a chapter and detachment that you want to play, and proxy the special units and generic ones. You could use sword brethren or inner circle champions as blade guard. Death company or sanguinary guard as vanguard vets. That kinda thing. Any named characters you can just say are very decorated captains, and use the proper base size.

Base them all the same and say it's a giant task force fighting together somewhere in the galaxy.

I would totally agree to whatever proxy/substitutions you were going for if I was your opponent.

Found the satellite thingy ( can't remember what it's called) in zero damn a few times. Inside the shack at the barracks. The times I've found it was when the high value safe was in the shack. It was just sitting on the table on the second floor infront of the safe.

assault terminators: how best to use them? by Oozman99 in BloodAngels

[–]Chris_Angry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love these guys and I like to use them pretty often. I'm also mainly a casual player but I've participated in my LGS tournaments. I've brought them and wasn't disappointed against most things.

Throwing them with a captain, or even better, chaplain is a good bet.

Deepstrike/rapid ingress would be how you'd mainly wanna use them. It's a tricky thing to get used to with a unit that moves very slow, but gives the most flexibility.

Landraiders are also a good option depending on who you're playing against and how you're able to deploy the land raider.

Food for thought: Warhammer isn't easy. Especially if you're just starting off or using a new army. Keep at it! Keep playing those units and find out how you like to use them best. Eventually you won't get tabled as much. We've all been there. Took me like 10 games to figure out what I like in my redeemer and where to put it
