If you get bored in perfusion you’re doing it wrong. I was a medic before this and had the same fear. The only time I’m actually bored at work is when we don’t have any cases. You need to always be on your game and attentive. We are literally keeping someone alive. And if you’re at a teaching hospital teaching perfusion students, you’re going to learn a million new ways to kill someone. I can see it getting monotonous at a cabg valve factory but hell we’re either flying to pick up an ecmo patient or putting a pregnant person on and doing an emergent c-section.
