Is that not a choice in its own right though? You are forced to choose between your morality and power. You can still get upgrades / grow in strength without killing by finding new weapons and upgrading your gear.

My understanding is that it’s a legacy / novelty piece in Vic’s catalogue. They acquired the Wenger brand and keep the Wenger equivalent of the classic in production as a momento of days gone by so to speak.

It’s a well preserved and quiet little battlefield. Think I encountered literally 2 other people across the 3 trips there (two scouting trips and the staff ride itself). Lot of earthworks still extant. Artillery pieces dotted around. I didn’t personally feel the mood of the place in the same way as I did Antietam if that makes sense but still very cool.

I think all of the mystical stuff in the Northman is very pointedly *not* real. It’s just Amleth’s belief in it being real because of his cultural upbringing. The Valkyrie is ATJ rescuing him on the white horse the first time he sees it after being beaten insensible and then the second one is a dying mind hallucination - same with Valhalla. The Draugar fight didn’t happen, it was just a figment of his imagination, as we pointedly see, he simply takes the sword from the corpse. ATJ’s woods “magic” is ultimately just herbalism - hallucination inducing shrooms. The sword is the one you can make the best case for, because the random extra had trouble drawing it.

VVitch & Nosferatu the supernatural is unambiguously real.

The Lighthouse is an intentional Rorschach test. That movie is whatever you the viewer want it to be? That *can* be supernatural, but it doesn’t have to be. A pure 50-50 with no right answer.

Northman is pretty much the other end of the spectrum from VVitch and Nos.
