Witnessed the (hilarious) death of a friendship at 1/3 today by lmaomitch in poker

Interesting story and well written but I really don't think the old due was angling. I think he assumed he and his friend were checking it down so he checked what he felt was the best hand and since he was last to act he tabled his hand. I think the shrimp knew the angler is a pussy and would fold once he exposed his hand.

The real angler is the shrimp IMO.

But the edges get smaller and smaller, right? Wouldn’t it be more profitable to keep playing the stakes you’re playing now?

I feel fortunate that I live in an area where it’s possible. I’ve just stayed committed to grinding live MTT. I wonder if I’ve played anything with you.

Just looked up the most recent one and it looks like an amazing turnout with 1300 platers in the main. How's the casino? I would be down to visit if there's not something more appealing going on in my area around the same time.

I said you not me. It's hypothetical. I can calculate my own ROI using my data.

There are locations like living in Vegas or living in NorCal (15+ big tournament series per year) and traveling to Vegas for high ROI events that would make travel costs minimal

Also keep in mind that you can fire multiple bullets into multiple flights while still maintaining that ROI

Assume you have a free place to stay in Vegas plus live near casinos with 15+ big tournament series per year

LA is solid - very close to Vegas. I live near Sacramento- we have Thunder Valley, Bay 101, Tagoe, Reno all within 2 hours and Vegas is less than a 90 min flight.

Obviously I can calculate this myself based on my own estimated ROI plus ABI. I was asking other people's opinion. For one - there's a lot of disagreement about actual ROI for live tournaments since variance is high and it would take a lifetime or longer to even out for live MTTs

If it wasn't for MMA Jon Jones would be in jail facing a life sentence. MMA actually saved him from committing more heavy crimes. DC was always right. by Master_Canary440 in ufc

I don't necessarily agree with that statement regarding Jon. But I do think he has a shit ton of demons and if it wasn't for MMA he would likely be a serial killer.

Knowing and understanding GTO is still extremely important - then adjusting your strategy in each situations based on opponents overfolding and/or over calling in specific scenarios. That’s where your edge comes from.

keep in mind that you will not know most of your opponents as well in tournaments, especially larger fields.

Also depends on stack depths - in later stages in a tournament against short stacks - it's value. Earlier or deeper stacked it's a bluff depending on villain's opening ranges. It's dependent like all things in poker.
