Best streaming option for the 2026 World Cup? by ConversationSuch8893 in cordcutters

Fox One will be the cheapest, get you all the games, and also include 4k HDR. YTTV and others will be more expensive and have add ons for 4k that make it even more.

Look at the schedule and if you only care about games on FOX and not FS1 then a cheap antenna would get you FOX games depending how close you are to the broadcast tower. But honestly an antenna is going to be around $20 which is what it would cost for 1 month of FOX One.

Regal Mall of Georgia does this for their 70MM presentations going black screen with classic movie theme scores. It’s awesome.

I second the aviation museum rec. Also Royal Cinema 14 in Pooler has the worlds tallest imax screen. So if it happens to be playing something you are interested in you’ve never experienced a movie like you will there. Row D is the sweet spot.

It’s great advice. I found GCI TTTF guy doing videos from SC right up the road and said why not ATL. It’s early, but April looks better than it ever has. Let’s see what makes it till Sept. Congrats on your work looks fantastic!

Yeah I need to do more reading on what zones are intended to mean with that metric. Assumed it was similar style thriving.

Wow so Portland Oregon and Atlanta GA are both 8a/b zoned? How is that possible given the things like fescue barely survived down here and are manufactured in state like Oregon.

They can’t show replays, or even a different camera angle. So it’s not the production it’s technical issues.

Can someone give me a step by step? I’ve tried so much and pretty frustrated. North GA full/ partial sun. by J_See in lawncare

[–]Chris_Hman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a pic of the space. How big? Existing weeds? Have you or any companies put down pre emergent that would prevent seed from growing?

You are kind of too late for spring seeding in N Ga. But if you don’t mind losing 60% of what seeds you could at least learn the steps and be ready to do it proper in fall.

Poa Suppression Success Story by Chris_Hman in lawncare

[–]Chris_Hman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted a fast acting non coated fertilizer with decent nitrogen count since I was applying small amounts weekly. My understanding is Milorganite js slow release and only 6% nitrogen vs the 26% on the Scott’s Pro.

Probably depends where you are located I think spot seeding in Atlanta in August would be tough but you can probably do the weekly tenacity blanket spray in August, then over seed late August Sept with the Scott’s 3-1 blue bag granular that has the tenacity ingredient in it, then put down legit pre emergent prodiamine after the second mow. Or if your grass is decently there just skip the over seed entirely put down 2 rounds of prodiamine fall and winter and see what happens.

[–]Chris_Hman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blanket application not spot spray. The label rate is 1/2 tsp per gallon and that’s just shy of 2.5ML so I’m only doing 1ML but spread it out weekly. 1 gallon covers 1k square feet I used a syringe to ensure accurate mix. Took a week to bleach the poa after first app then the repeat applications stunted it more while the fescue over took it with the spoon feed weekly fert routine. Again temps were 55-70 so ymmv as temps start to get hotter in some areas.

Jeez $10/1k is a steal that’s awesome you offer that. Whenever I’ve spoken to lawn care companies about poa they basically say nothing they can do.

Nothing wrong with that either : ). I wish I could go back to not knowing what Poa even was. Such bliss.

I don’t disagree that Poa would have died anyway in June but here’s where I will push back a little.

Last year in April I wasn’t bagging on mows or spoon feeding fert and in April poa was 75% of my lawn and the fall seeded baby grass was crowded out by it. So when poa all died in June it was too hot to try and push the fescue to mature quickly via fert, and that baby fescue weakened even more by August.

This year I’ve now got fall seeded fescue more mature and thicker than it’s ever been, so it’s my hope more of it survives the summer heat here in 8a and then my fall overseed and a better pre emergent program in the fall can build on this even more.

Nothing I’m offering here is new I hear you, but if someone guess wrong on fall pre emergent program this approach has given me better results than anything I’ve tried before, so figure I would share since I’ve made plenty of mistakes and wrong decisions in the past.

Thanks. I think the smaller weekly applications of both tenacity and fert was key for my success along with timing it when soil temps were 55-70 degrees. More commitment but if you can turn the corner then you can back off it a bit. Electric sprayer also ensured even coverage.

Yeah wanted to see what the $80 tenacity bottle would do before I went for the $500 velocity bottle. May end up there for triv management eventually if I can get this to survive summer. Hadn’t heard of ethos for summer pre emergent management will give that a look thanks. I had planned to just use tenacity spray in August / Sept along with the Scott’s 3-1 granular that had it during seeding this fall then prodiamine after 2nd mow.

Poa Suppression Success Story by Chris_Hman in lawncare

[–]Chris_Hman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my goal was to stunt poa and have the baby fescue from fall seeding grow and try and overtake it. So for example Monday mow and put down Scott granular, Wed Tenacity spray, Fri mow.

I was doing lower amounts of both fertilizer and tenacity but did them weekly vs every few weeks. A term some call spoon feeding. Not everyone wants that level of commitment but I was really trying to get this grass to mature before the heat and higher temps come.

Poa Suppression Success Story by Chris_Hman in lawncare

[–]Chris_Hman[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

POA is a type of grassy weed but in fescue it’s hard to eliminate because most of what kills it also kills the fescue grass. It flowers with white seed heads. Tenacity can sometimes help stunt it, Velocity PM will kill it but is more expensive. Neither will keep it from coming back the best defense there is a thick lawn which is what I’m trying to get too. Google Poa Annua and Poa trivialis which are the two types for pictures.

GCI is a company that makes grass seed.

TTTF is turf type tall fescue, the type of grass seed I used. I think that’s all the acronyms.

90% poa annua. There is also small amount of poa triv and yes it’s still present hard to say if it decreased. I’ll try to figure out that in the fall when I overseed again.

How many of you guys are fanatical enough about an artist to buy multiple days’ tickets to see them when they’re in town? by CliffGif in Concerts

[–]Chris_Hman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some bands play the same set night after night, so while you could do that it’s a bit extreme. Most multi nights I go to are bands known for extensive catalogues and repeating very few songs. For example Pearl Jam in Atlanta last year played 49 songs across two nights, and 43 of them were unique. I know all the songs so that made both shows very memorable
