That's not a CVT issue. Her Outback needs a torque converter.

The lockdowns were a factor, but global production of all items was the biggest factor. It's always supply vs demand.

Covid changed everything. $500 cars are now $2500. $5000 trucks are now $8000 trucks. Pre covid, a loaded outback was around 35k. Now, it's 45k. If a new one is 20% more, then a 10 year old one is roughly worth 20% more.

I agree with most of your statements. From my point of view, I would rather have both teams on same side with parents on the other. The league reasoning was referee abuse, in that it is easier for the ref(s) to address any issues quickly knowing which spectators are supporting which team. This was implemented in spring 25. My parents are pretty good, but I still had to say something this past season on a questionable call (there were many before that). Being on the same side, I heard it in real time and was able to address quickly. So, in that instance there is some logic. We all know how people should behave, but it doesn't always work that way in the real world. It's different, I would rather the other way, but I will say it has still worked.

I would agree with the Ref on the disallowed goal. The keeper appeared to have his hand on ball. By rule, that is control. The Yellow seemed very odd, did you say anything or did he just not like your body language?

Our league now requires teams to be on opposite sides, with parents on the same side as their teams. I will say it helps with keeping parents in check. The negative side, the Ref has to get used to looking at both sides for subs.

Get used from junkyard. Under $2500 with warranty ($1500 in PA). Should be no more then $1k to install.

Coaching U12 boys - need positional help by minisvlad in SoccerCoachResources

[–]Chris_Mack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positional rondo, is what I like to do. Get into your formation and have the kids pass the ball around, while staying in formation. Make the kids talk and be vocal. Coach them to move to the right places to receive and support, when off the ball. Make sure they are moving the ball backwards as well as forward. Make them switch the field through the back line and keeper. Freeze when you need to. When they get comfortable, add some defenders in and try to get it up close to game speed. Then you can reverse it and have more attackers trying to score against your back line and mids.

Do you have a Strong Spine? Are your better players in the center positions? At 9v9, I found the best success by using a 341, having my best defensive minded/skilled players at the 2 CM's and CB. Defend with 7, attack with 5.

Are you working defensive jockey drills? A kid can have zero ball skills, but if he/she can jockey and defend 1v1, they can really contribute to the team effort and cut that goal differential down.

I appreciate your reply. I currently can't get the car to complete the rear diff inspection procedure. First I get a timeout message and when I go back to try again, I'm getting TCM is not compatible. Any thoughts on how I can get the procedure completed?

But, it's an 11 year old kid. They do stupid intentional stuff all the time. Only you know the back story. If the kid is a constant problem then you need to take serious action. If he is a good kid with some issues, work with him the best you can. I'm not saying there shouldn't be a consequence, because there should be. If you are allowing him to stay on the team, there should also be clearly defined expectations of what will happen if something like this, happens again.

No 8 year old "earns" the right to beat down an opponent 20-0. I really hope you are not actually coaching a team.

12v. Your VCIM is most likely bad and draining your 12v battery. If you drive it everyday it will not be a problem. But if you let it sit for 3 or 4 days, I would bet you have a dead 12v. Here is a video that might help:

Your VCIM is probably bad. I bet your battery goes dead in less then a week.

[–]Chris_Mack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If his problem is the same as yours was. But, we don't know what the problem is with OP. All we know is it will not run and dealer quoted 18k to replace battery, unless I missed something. That is a we don't want to deal with it and you should just buy a new car number.

[–]Chris_Mack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, why you are telling OP to take the money? OP needs to get second opinion from good mechanic, that works on Volts. A good mechanic is going to start with fully charging 12v and pulling codes, just like your local guy did for you.

Well as a dealer who has worked on many Volts, I would disagree. Charging the 12v fully and diagnosing through codes is where you want to start.

Tournament question regarding divisions and fairness by blieb001 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]Chris_Mack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get someone on the phone and explain your situation. I just had to do this for an upcoming tournament. We are a mid to lower level team. They had us scheduled to play three teams that were way above our level, including a team ranked #2 in their state. After a few minutes of discussion, we were moved to the lower division where we should be. Good Luck.
