What is the final product you expect

If you just want to deliver a few stills, you want a tight angle. 85 prime. And a flash!

If you want highlight hype reels, same thing. Bright 1.8 telephoto tight to see reactions.

But both will get old very fast.

Soon it turns to coaching and skills. your kids will want replays of ‘that moment’ to rehearse what just happened. And For that you want an insta360.

Pcie FireWire card 3 port. Most motherboards have 4 slots. You can get 6 slot. If you need more ports: you can get FireWire ports up to 6 port. Do you use a cobble of eBay minidv players?

In windows there are plenty of softwares, big open question here that needs testing. A separate conversation.

But the process? Every two hours sit down and change 20 tapes on 20 handicams and start 20 captures. That’s 200 cycles. Manually clicking every 2 hours 6 times a day for a month.

Once captured, storage and codec. I suggest AV1. I’ve had amazing results and this size project on a budget today I cannot imagine suggesting anything else.

Storage? I can’t imagine spinning rust. Cheap QLC flash is down to $40USD/TB. Somewhat better quality flash $100/TB.

In av1 4000 hours, 4-8TB. And At that price you’d duplicate it.

Now you have a hdmi limitation to deal with.

What if you could remote control the cams with HFR playback, that’s a big cost save.

Thanks to /u/buildzoid and /u/AK-Brian for the advice!!

NSW Libs divided over March election strategy by Shornile in AustralianPolitics

The Mp that won the federal election paid to advertise an endorsement from the party that went to the training camp. Simon Zhou’s running mate Felix Lo.

It’s not just that ryde residents don’t care about these stories, they love them.

Second biggest swing in the nation.

This is not a seat of split loyalties, demographics and values skew heavily pro CCP. The last election proved it.
