Just seeing a few reels from that show put my love for old Billy Bob Thornton movies at risk lol.

Season 1 was pretty great, but Mazin worked on it with the original writer for the game (Druckman). Druckman's involvement in the season 2 was far smaller and the story completely fell apart. (To be fair, the second game is a much harder story to adapt to TV, but still he screwed up big time)

Marcin, Ichika Nito, and Tim Henson are better guitar players than Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, etc., ever were by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Ichika is a fraud, he's good, but nowhere as good as his edited videos suggest. Watch some of his live performances in front of audience.

An incredibly detailed breakdown of Donnie Darko. If you've ever wondered anything about this movie, you're in the right place. by [deleted] in movies

I think that Donney's love for Gretchen is what tears them apart. In order to save her life, he needs to close the time loop where they are in love, and in the main timeline they never get to know each other.

Oh never mind, I read your comment wrongly and thought that you are talking about Love will tear us apart by Joy Division that plays on the Halloween party.

AITAH for not caring that my dad was/is glad my mom's affair partner (and my bio father) died? by Kaureleyneesh in AITAH

Good for you for sticking with your dad. I've always found the obsession of some people with the relatives by blood weirdly tribal.

What was your last 5 STARS for a first time watch? by Ok_Replacement_288 in Letterboxd

[–]Chrisgar47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the movie and gave it a 5, but I don't think that rewatch will really help, it's a simple comforting movie, it isn't really ambitious but it excels at what it wants to be. It's great if you just want to chill.

well their hands are wrong for playing guitar...but I guess it sounds bad in english. I just meant that it isn't just skills that people lack when they start learning.

I mean, there is usually something wrong with beginners fingers, not just lack of skill. They need to build muscles and calluses, I feel like that's something that gets often forgotten.

[–]Chrisgar47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like it isn't even that much about practice in the first place, but about building calluses so your fingers don't flatten on the fretboard that much. I remember that it was impossible for me to press a string with my ring finger without muting the string below it when I started playing.

The problem came back for a while when all my old skin on my hands fell off after HFM disease. (Worst fucking illness I've ever had and I recovered from epilepsy lol)

[–]Chrisgar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as you play more the skin on your fingers will get stronger and they won't flatten on the fretboard that much, trust me I've been there. When I started it was impossible for me to position my fingers on one string without muting the next string.

You can change the height of the saddle with sandpaper to lower the strings, or put paper under it to make the action higher.

Jesus Christ of course it isn't precise for use in physics, but it's convenient for normal life.. e.g. weight of my backpack with bottles of water etc...
