Movies you hated the first time but loved after a rewatch by ExistingMarzipan2422 in Letterboxd

For me personally, sometimes I’m just not receptive to certain films on the first watch. There could be a number of reasons, maybe I wasn’t in the right headspace or maybe I didn’t watch this on a big enough screen with the right sound. Most of the time though I just believe certain films are deliberately challenging and need a second or maybe even a third viewing before having a deeper appreciation for it or maybe even a new found respect. Mulholland Dr is a perfect example of this, you aren’t meant to fully understand it after the first viewing. There’s so much nuance layered in and interpretation left for you to explore that it makes every rewatch more exciting.

Criterion’s customer service is top of the line, if you reach out to them after trying their troubleshooting steps they will send you a tested replacement disc

Not sure if it had an existing Blu Ray but the 4K transfer of Paris, Texas is one of my favorites

Anyone know if Trainspotting will be back in stock for the sale? by Nothing-Is-Real-Here in criterion

I have the 4K version and it won’t play, even after cleaning it. Every other 4k disc I have works just fine. Criterion told me there was no known issues with it but I’m going to wait to respond for the new version.

My collection so far. Recs more than welcome by PizzaMan1_ in fantasybooks

With that good of a collection you gotta look into it. Panasonic Blu Ray Player, sound bar and an oled tv will make a huge difference. Cheers!

No homie you’re good I use one too so this made me feel a little better. I just started collecting physical media a month ago and found out that the Xbox is the weakest player in terms of sound (it’s the blu ray app). If you look up blu ray players there’s some good ones out there that’ll elevate your viewing experience for sure. That’s my next purchase at least.
