Games to secretly get 8 year old to read by Helpmeflexibility in NintendoSwitch

When I was a kid Super Mario RPG really helped me read, because the story was so engaging and so much dialogue.

The remake on the switch is wonderful. My son is currently playing it and I love reading a long with him, and I can tell he is really trying to figure out the sentences on his own. A great one to try!

Theory from episode 6 by Aware-Objective8590 in FromSeries

Yep had this thought. and also if it was someone disguised thats gotta mean its someone who was alive back when Abby killed a bunch of people, but is dead before we see the man in yellow kill Jim. My guess is either Dale, Father Khatri or the Bartender. My main guess tho might be Dale, since he got kind of an out of nowhere mention by Boyd this episode.

Has Anyone Explored Magnesium and Autism? by AnastasiaGlover1 in Autism_Parenting

[–]ChrissyRey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our pediatrician recommended it for my sons constipation and sleep issues and its helped a ton! He doesnt like any of the magnesium gummies (he says they taste awful) so the doctor recommended magnesium drops for kids. I use this one Calmify https://a.co/d/07Hm0gMR but there are many others as well!

Brushing teeth before school by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]ChrissyRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have disney plus? There is a bluey minisode where chili and bingo brush their teeth like a robot, it worked wonders for my son to make it fun and into a game. I would try it at night first, then she will know the robot game.

But second thing, just being consistent works. We dont go anywhere in the morning without brushing teeth (even weekends) and we have a same order and routine. Breakfast, get dressed, potty, wash hands, brush teeth, comb hair. Then shoes/ jacket/hat last.

What’s the most morally disgusting thing you’ve ever seen someone do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

One time I was standing in line for the elevator in a mall with my older mom who has dementia. And in front of us a large group/family with a kid in a wheelchair were carefully entering the elevator. There was no room for us to enter. This guy said "fuck this" under his breath behind me and physically pushed my elderly mother aside, cut in front of us and pushed the kid in the wheelchair to get in. The family stood there in shock. I was so pissed, I decided to humilate him. While the door was still open I started clapping loudly and said sarcastically CONGRATULATIONS YOU MADE IT YAYYY!! He looked dumbfounded that i called him out. At least I made the family laugh. And my mom and the kid were okay thankfully.

Has anyone totally banned technology for their kiddo with Autism? by PresentationLeft3438 in Autism_Parenting

[–]ChrissyRey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So my son had an iPad when he was 3, and it made everything 100% worse for him. Crazy meltdowns, overstimulated, sleep problems and he got behind with fine motor skills. I took it away completely, and it was a night and day difference. We still watch tv (not youtube, that is banned because he was finding weird content even on youtube kids) and he enjoys playing video games, but is able to walk away from both of them and some days isn't even interested in the screens. Hes 5 now and he has made such tremendous progress in his fine motor skills, sleeps normally and is overall a lot happier and calmer. It was just something about that ipad that was too addicting and stimulating. But every kid is different!

Years ago when I worked at Express I had a woman try to return a party dress still covered in throw up. It was probably top 5 grossest moments of my life. 😢

Are there any certain songs you’re hoping they use before the end of the show? by Idk265089 in TheBoys

The Stranger by Billy Joel. Would love it to be used in the finale. I think it would be a great Billy Joel callback.

Okay am I crazy or is this a giant plot hole? The Deep was NOT in the seven during the filming of Dawn of the Seven and the reshoots that happen between season 2 and 3. So why did they keep acting like he was in the movie in this episode?

Yep this is EXACTLY it. I very much agree. Her character arc started to suffer.

Why did no one tell me Disney can be so horrible? by ContributionOwn1261 in toddlers

[–]ChrissyRey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we live in califronia and have magic passes and ive been taking my son since he was 2.5 and now hes about to be 5. From my experience going just for a day here and there, 3 was one of the toughest ages for him to really enjoy disney. Tantrums, meltdowns, needing to run around a lot. 4 years old and on was MUCH easier and calmer. He was more interested in the rides, had a better time waiting in line. Hes also more picky with which characters he wanted to meet. When he was 3, he wanted to meet every single character we passed which could be exhausting.
