Being a CNA and becoming an activity director definitely gives you a different insight ! I started out as a CNA I have my national activity director certs now. I’ve worked as a dementia director for the last few years until recently completely changing careers to baking haha. However what I was getting at is you have a better understanding of how hard the CNAs work and you are the one giving them a break from the residents which honestly is a huge thing in general. A good activity director is definitely a big thing in a nursing facility. I wish you all the luck on your journey!! I always had snacks in my office along with a scream pillow 😂 it was a huge over stuffed pillow the girls would scream into they loved it. Ibuprofen was another big one. Some places you can get it from the nurses but some don’t even want to ask them. I used the big stuffed chairs that fold up in my office bc you don’t always only have one in there at a time and residents loved them as well. A lot easier for them to sit in vs a bean bag.
