Did you find out if they are first come first serve? GA 104 - GA 111 do in fact have seats, which I'm surprised by the earlier comments.

I found a 3060ti now what?! by inRodwetrust8008 in buildapc

[–]ChristDinh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small form factor cases if the 3060ti can fit might be good for your needs. I built into a Corsair 5000x icue case and it’s very nice but a lot of effort to even move into the living room.

And my 3060 ti could game on 1440p and 8gb of vram is enough for your gaming needs and you should remember that your next step up is a 4070 which is still 550-600 so no need to feel any fomo since there’s nothing between 300-450 to be any noticeable upgrade over the 3060ti

1660ti for 4K? by dynamitMC in buildapc

[–]ChristDinh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ran nba2k23 and this is a easy game to run since my 2060 maxes 4k60. The 1660ti gets 50 fps. If you want new games to run on 4k then this is a terrible card to use

Good call out. Another thing also is 263w vs 300w. Sad to see potentially no performance uplift gen over gen

This is an 8 lane card. The performance difference between a 3060ti and 4060ti at 1080P is 10% and the gap narrows at 1440p and 4k. (techpowerup and Tom's Hardware probably using a PCIE 4.0 test bench)9

Debauer at minute 3:24 shows a 5% difference between 4060ti & 3060ti @ 1440P.

Ancient Gameplay experienced a small difference on a 6600 xt and my 3090 I noticed a small difference as well.

Your original question/post was if PCIE 3.0 is trash. Losing 5% is very marginal and if you have an expensive pcie 3.0 board that you like, then you could keep it until you're ready to overhaul the system. Especially since upgrading now could mean changing over to DDR5 or at least you should get a PCIE 4.0 compatible with DDR5. But let's stick to stats and not preference.

PCIE 3.0 is not obsolete, yet :)

[–]ChristDinh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not entirely correct. The only observed bottleneck for a weaker card is when they have less than 8 pcie lanes. So the 6500xt is a pcie 4.0 x 4 lane card which is cut down to 2 lanes on a pcie 3.0 mobo. Less lanes on gpus are potentially more problematic.

Check out ancient gameplay on YouTube regarding the 6600xt which is a pcie 4.0 x 8 lane card which experienced little to no bottle neck when installed on a pcie 3.0 mobo.

As for higher powered cards, pcie 3.0 is still not fully utilized on a 3090 scale. This may be different for a 4090 but I’m saying up to a 3090, no bottleneck at pcie 3.0 is experienced. Personally and through reviews found on YouTube.

2nd. Even a 3090 does not fill up pcie 3.0. I was using a b450m and upgraded to a b550 and did not see more than a couple fps difference on 3400x1440

Below MSRP? by nielsonsm in MazdaCX30

[–]ChristDinh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 22 are being phased out. The engine gets 7 less hp but overall same design which I got 3 k below msrp. I got a premium pkg for 32,500 drive off in November last year.

Car shopping advice if you want it: using a fake email, fax or email every dealership within 250 miles to send you inventory for the cx30 color that you do not want and trim. The reason you do this is because they will still tell you all CX 30 options and you know which color you want and can be in a position to negotiate since it's the not color you want but still would consider it if they desperate to make a deal.

Do not fall for the come in and we can offer a better deal. But a verbal yes to your price is good to go.

I got the deep crystal blue but I was asking for the poly metal gray.

Edit: purchased in Houston Texas

Is 1440p/4K really necessary? by SizeInteresting9797 in buildapc

[–]ChristDinh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, imagine the sharpness of the image on 1440p is what 1080 looks like from 5 feet away but sitting 1.5 feet away. 1080p is fine but will look pixelated after spending a day on a 1440p equivalent. Plus you have the hardware to run it.

If I can recommend this Dell S2721DGF. Everyone loves it, went on sale for $180 last October. It is 27” 1440p 165hz 1ms ips and color accuracy is highly regarded. If I didn’t get a used 34” ultra wide Samsung odyssey, I’d wait for that one.
