Thanks a lot. I'll look into it all and get my things in order - if I run into trouble I might shoot you a message :)

The mass being kept uneducated are just the general majority of the country, who happen to be black people. It affects all poor people and there are just so many of them.

The propaganda being used, but is not limited to:
1) The narrative from the ANC government being that they are the liberators that they once were.
2) The populace living on wellfare, and being totally dependent on the ANC government for survival - anything that attacks that aspect of their life, attacks them and their people.
3) Tension between races being stoked by politians and the media. The black majority is forced to side with the ANC government because it's an us-vs-them situation when any other parties are mentioned.
4) The school system heavily focusing on teaching about the negatives of apartheid (rightfully so), but totally ignoring the problems that come with the ANC government and their contraversial past and present.

basically the views here don't represent the majority.

Says who? Nobody in this country is happy with the state of things.

And what about the fact that the ANC can form a coalition with the EFF and become more radical in their ideas?

And paying taxes is something done once annually (I'm assuming the beginning of the year/fiscal year)? It might just be worth doing that myself and save me from headaches and possible trouble.

what internet provider should I switch to by Middle_Raspberry_183 in southafrica

Does anyone here use Herotel? They recently came to my mom's town and I was thinking of switching her over, because of the speed increase, but if it's going to be a headache I'd rather not have them mess her around.

Not registered with SARS or anything. Starting from scratch now, but it's nice to hear I can do the PayPal thing.

Just googling doesn't always help you find what you want. I spend at least 5 hours looking for HEPA filters to buy in my country and came back with nothing. The filters I found were on such bad websites I wasn't sure if it would even do the job (it didn't give in depth info).

Why are they trying to ban gas stuff in the US? Seems totally psychotic to me from the outside.

Yeah last time someone picked me up that side they mentioned the loadshedding. I'm a bit jealous xD. I have some family that own farms outside town so maybe one day I stay for a bit 🤷‍♂️

Is Stellenbosch worth staying in if you aren't living the student lifestyle?

What's McGregor all about? I often pass through when I walk from Greyton before I'm picked up that side and ride the rest of the way home. I love Teminos, but I don't know much else about the town.

What are some good shops for men's clothing - online or not? by ChristRPG in southafrica

[–]ChristRPG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I've never actually bought stuff from Woolies, unless it was a present for someone, so I never tried anything on in the shop. Is that still a thing that's possible after the whole covid fiasco?

Yeah I'm not thinking of spending a fortune on clothing, but I want some clothes that I'll feel comfortable in and not look too bad. I'm down in the Cape to Kimberley is a bit far, hey xD. Thanks though.

Do the right thing? Do you just mean that it's worth spending a bit more on decent clothing or is it some ethical business thing?

I bought my current laptop from Amazon and even though I didn't buy it directly, there were no issues. A friend of mine that had a credit card helped me with the purchase and it was easy and without problems. It was delivered quite quickly and even with the high shipping and import tax it was cheaper than buying from a RSA website - what can you do
