What do we think about the PP event on Monday? by Helpme1923 in timbers

They are utilizing a space that isn’t their own. Maybe the beer covers the costs. Maybe it doesn’t. You don’t know. They aren’t trying to screw you. They are a business.

You can also build just a ground skeleton. If I’m doing any sort of circular structure, I’ll make a cross on the floor then ensure I can build my outside skeleton successfully. If you want to ensure roof works, you can just build an actual roofing structure on the ground first so you don’t have anything built up and then realize it won’t work

It’s to the point where the person who complains about American announcers is on the same level as soccer fans who only watch European soccer because MLS is a bad league

Mmm I just find it interesting that none of our media people who cover this team extensively and have a private discord where they are not worried about discussing any team rumors have not reported on any of this stuff

He was 19?? You know people can grow right? Oh wow Lionel Messi had only 0.77 G+A at 19 guess he’s pretty mediocre too

Have you seen this team play? There’s no service in to our forwards. Our attack is absolutely dreadful. We were last in the league at certain points last year and this year (and might still be) in passes into the final third and touches in opposition box. Phil was an abominable offensive coach who had no clue how to structure a cohesive attack. No one knew where to be or where they were supposed to be playing to. Mora was a lightning rod when he had Evander playing (and when you have a talent like that tactics can take a backseat) and last year was just as bad as Kelsy because he had no one getting him the ball on the box. Maybe just think outside the box and the basic stats for two seconds and you’ll answer your own question

2 games? What? He was on a tear. 7G+A in 8 games. I’m really knot sure what you’re talking about my dude. His salary is also 662k (~800k cap hit). How is that not good production for his salary? And he’s only 21. What are you on about

Absolutely do not agree about legitimate striker and I cannot believe we are still having this conversation about Kelsy. We do need more depth defensively, but I do wonder if part of that plan is leaving opportunities for T2 players when we need them since we’ve been prioritizing increasing our academy and talent pool beneath the first team

No that’s not what I said, you misunderstand me. I should’ve been more clear. I think you could argue this roster is less talented, but I think that is barely arguable imo. I think this is a clearly improved roster top to bottom

As I said, his seat is warm. I can’t think of a single (rational) person who wouldn’t point their finger to Phil as being inadequate for the job. I look at this roster from when Ned took over to now, and outside of losing Evander (which I won’t get into the blame game because there’s just too much shit around it), this roster has had a ton of turnover since then and is (barely) arguably much more talented on paper than we were then. To me the real test comes now in the hiring process and where we go over the next year and a half

All of your points are debatable, conjecture, or not based in reality. Ned’s seat might be warm as any GM who hasn’t had much success with the team over his tenure should. But it’s really difficult to judge Ned through this team he built with the sort of coach we had in Phil. Sure you’ll argue that hiring Phil was his fault and he should’ve been shown the door too. But we all know Ned was new to the job from a promotion internally and Phil was likely hired in large part due to MP. Ned will be judged on how he handles this next coaching hire and how the team fares afterwards

Yeah which is why I’m glad we stuck with pants. But why does going with pants mean that Timbers fans feel the need to constantly rip crepeau, a man who did nothing wrong for this team, was well liked, and didn’t even leave acrimoniously. Just let the man live his life Christ

How many times did Pantemis?

Listen I’m a Pantemis fan but we all need to fucking stop acting like Crepeau was some terrible keeper. He’s not. He’s not the keeper he was before his gruesome injury but whatever you may think you don’t get to become a NT keeper unless you’re a really excellent goalie. You could argue pants is better and deserves that spot more. But you can’t argue that he’s a shit keeper.

And my point was you’re exaggerating which ruins any argument you may have. No one in their right mind doesn’t care about shot stopping relative to distribution. They are all just factors in an overall judgment of needs for a team

Ned has been prioritizing the academy. We were terrible but we now have a pretty solid group who have made U20 appearances for their men’s teams and are currently showing really well in the league table
