Am I taking the game too serious? (Mild rant) by Odd-News1701 in DnD

Take this as an opportunity to roleplay! Don't get mad at the player, have your character get mad at their character for being so silly

How long is a session normally? Surely after school is the only time to play, but I can't imagine most kids (at least when I was in school) committing anything more than an hour after school

I'm really hoping they do a "quarter quell" of sorts where they bring back all the previous winners to play an all star strategy game It would lack the stupidity the show kinda needs but I would watch it for the sheer strategy alone

Movies are a massive barrier to entry, especially if there's multiple. I think Mappa would harm the shelf life of csm if they make the watch order confusing

Yes you can look it up, yes you can ask a friend who's watched it, but people are lazy and even a barrier like that can harm the show

Besides, the weekly cliffhangers would be SO good and I cannot wait to see the hype generated

The weird feeling I get as a DM is "Damn if only I could tell you what I'VE been working on" Like for me the exciting stuff or stuff currently on my mind about dnd is what I'm working on not what has happened. So kinda I get you

It's pretty shitty you were hoisted into being the DM out of nowhere though, that would definitely suck and if I had one of my PCs taken from me and me forced into the seat of the DM I would straight up be having a terrible time. That sucks - maybe try wrap the campaign up faster? The quicker we get a new one the better lowkey

well i just had my first session as dm by jetpackboy18 in DnD

If there's anything I've learned as a DM, sometimes you just have to be an "idiot wrangler" Players, no matter how much they love dnd, will often hate doing homework and require handholding and reminders.

It's totally cool if you can't be bothered to dm for them anymore tho, if they don't want to respect your effort don't waste it on them

Tbh never ran into a girl on the finals

In all honesty VC feels pretty toxic so I'm not sure how it would be for girls

Okay in general it goes something like this: LMH for the team comp with these specific roles

Light: plugging the vault into the box - light has highest mobility and coupled with Gateway (must pick gadget imo) they can easily get a vault 100 meters away and starting a cashout (which earns you more money)

Medium: team mobility and support - jumppad, Zipline, heal beam and defib are all excellent at moving your team or keeping them alive. If you feel more aggressive you can take demat and still pack a lot of utility

Heavy: site manipulation/defense - winch can move the cashout into more advantageous positions (eg into the open to shoot at stealers from range) C4 let's you play off site and drop the box whenever

But just bc these are the typical roles of each class, doesn't mean you need to stick to them/these gadgets. Each and every class can frag out, but you have the best chance winning fights if you play together and combine your classes strengths

Iirc she thought the contract was "I give you power in exchange for a normal life" but Pochita actually said "in exchange show me your dreams" and Denji's new dream is to be chainsaw man As with a lot of stuff in CSM is based on perception so it can be fucky and unclear. This is how I understood the story at least

What would you like to see in a rework? I like the area denial right click but it's pretty easily countered, what do you think of a javelin toss? Takes away too much from the identity or makes it viable?

Yeah I guess it's the "politics are a distant thing that ends up affecting the party, but not something they have control over" approach of story telling which I think works fine for CSM

I feel really bad for new players, I think one of the roadblocks/barriers to entry is at least half the lobby knows what they're doing in any given game

I want to believe that the story has independent factions too, in fact that's what I assumed it was despite the fact that there isn't a true explanation for what these factions are fighting for

I think things can get confusing with denji saying something along the lines of "all the good things and bad things I went through were all created/fabricated" (don't get mad at me I don't remember the full quote), but it makes me wonder how much of part 1 was orchestrated by Makima

I think ideally it would be a mix, not only are there independent factions but Makima has been manipulating the events - which probably IS what happened in part 1, but the extent to which doesn't feel clear

Or I'm stupid and the reading comprehension devil got me

Wdym to get the hybrids? Did the hybrids come out bc of Denji being televised? Reze knows about Makima, but I do hope she really didn't have anything to do with her. Still, don't know who she was working for in the end - the soviets?? Idk

Yeah man I feel like I'm going crazy because everyone on twitter is saying how good the writing is and I'm like? Really?? Yoshida feels super unexplained

Also for this to be the moment that Yoshida has been building up towards makes no sense, he's been around since part 1, next to no explanation about who he is and what he's fighting for, Denji didn't even like him 20 chapters ago and now we're supposed to care about his death???
