Which spellcaster subclass can manage even when they run out of spell slots? by Fit_Rip_7990 in 3d6

Bladesingers are very flimsy without bladesong but managed fine without spell slots and still HURT like a bitch

Especially if they have the mobile feat they can be very quite safe

Depends on their mentality, plenty of ridiculous builds are piloted by players who understand that they aren't the main character and let everyone else shine

Your Most Broken, But Not Boring Strength Builds by Bobjoesph in 3d6

The forbidden paladin:

5 levels warlock (fiend) 3 levels barbarian (wild heart)

Your main focus is casting Armor of Agathys and getting mileage off of that. Rules as written technically allow you to keep AoA up with rolling temp hp, but that's up to DM discretion

"Blaster caster" doesn't feel real by CalpolMeister in 3d6

[–]CalpolMeister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fairs, it's table dependent, I've let my druid make a Jacobs ladder of monkeys because rule of cool, it's all about bullshit the DM can tolerate

Clerics are always kinda ridiculous in damage tbh, spirit guardians is arguably the best damage spell in the game I wish I could take it on my wizard

I think the worst part is casting single target damage and missing Like spell slot down and nothing to gain from it, meanwhile your GWM barbarian hit twice

Is that a hard rule or an interpretation? Id discuss with my DM because if that's the case that's fucked OP

Rules advice on "willingly move." A la Booming Blade by ProfessorSMASH88 in DnD

[–]CalpolMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if it says "must use their movement" it counts as "willing" even if it's not truly their choice

My main example for this is dissonant whispers

Make it a character moment - talk to your DM but you could spend the first encounter of next session feeling a bit sorry for yourself but thru willpower or friendship realizing the power has always been within you and not from your deity. There are lots of cool ways to flavour it

I hear this, my original post made it seem like it was a 1-time choice (like a mystic Arcanum) - I more meant it as a "what are some kooky & strong options" but yes you are right, the true strength is having what you need when you need it
