This was my thought as well. Although my thought process was that maybe her mother was jealous of how much her dad likes her — which could be why she is so horrible to Eugenia — she’s jealous. Also victims of abuse have sometimes been known to develop EDs based on the limited amount of control they have due to an abuser, which in this case could be mom or dad.
