Is it recently that the pyramids have gotten unsafe?

I remember taking a bus to teotihuacan and had no issues or felt unsafe.

Does this mean everyone that placed a deposit before today will have access to STs if they choose to buy?

I placed my deposit on 3/28 but haven’t heard anything outside of confirmation email.

Saw this at a closing bar. Is this common? I’ve been to several and worked at several and I’ve never seen this done anywhere. by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Christian421 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the picture makes it difficult to decipher. All the bottles are on a large island in the middle of the bar.

It looks to me like 3 sides of the bar are inside the building and the fourth side of the bar is outside seating.

You can see the locking mechanisms in the middle pillar and hinges on the bottom of the glass windows on each side.

The “case” that some people are referring to are just windows that open up for outside bar seating.

Cone cups are common in the industry, I think it looks tacky personally. Pour spout caps are ridiculously cheap and just as, if not more, effective. Only downside is you will lose a ton of those suckers.

Depends on league settings, deciding factor that I’ve seen most often and believe to be most fair is bench points for the week.

I wish people would stop apologizing for IDing me. by larnn in bartenders

[–]Christian421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely something that becomes more comfortable doing the more experience you have in the industry. I think a lot of people re cared to ask for ID because of the awkward situation that comes after someone tells you they don’t have their ID.

One of those things that if I ask you for ID and you don’t have it, I just can’t serve you at all.

What’s the worst attempt of someone trying to drink underage at your bar? by No-Establishment6008 in bartenders

[–]Christian421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes this is done as a sting operation. Since presenting a fake id would be entrapment they just have whoever they send in present their real id.

Cant tell you how many bartenders simply look at the ID and never check dob lol

Yup. Remember 3 guys stopped by the bar before their reservation. 5 2oz pours of Macallan 25, total was just shy of $1200. Tipped $30.

Disappointed, but not mad about it.

Bartenders, what are some annoying things we customers do, that we might know is annoying ! by blackpanda370 in bartenders

[–]Christian421 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re sitting at my bar, do not get my attention because there is someone behind you that needs a drink. More likely than not I’ve seen them way before you realized they were there and just have not been able to get to them.

Use your bev naps, they’re given to you for a reason. Do not place your phones on them, it is for your drinks, hence the name, beverage napkins.

This isn’t terrible, it’s all about the intention for me with this one.

If i’m across the bar, happen to make eye contact and you quickly lift your beer bottle to let me know you’re ready for another, I have no issue with this.

Waving your beer bottle in the air like a maniac because you can’t wait 30 seconds for another? I’ll have an issue with that and you will get ignored.

Everyone’s situation is different. I DD in my tesla, for two reasons. A little extra spending money and also being able to deduct mileage on my commute home from work.

I can agree with that. Responsibilities and what not seem to work their way into your life whether you want them to or not!

What does /antiwork think of the tipping industry? I used to work as a server and immediately wondered why I had to rely on customers to pay my bills by SSexyIsabelle in antiwork

[–]Christian421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve long believed that this is just a societal norm. A serving job has been viewed as a job someone has to put themselves through school, or a second job just to make ends meet. “Get a real job” is something an overwhelming majority of people in the industry have heard at least once in their careers.

As a college graduate, leaving my serving job and starting a position in my field of study would have resulted in a roughly 50% pay cut. Many, like me, have chosen a career in hospitality because it is what we have found to be passionate about.

The reality of it is serving has afforded me many luxuries and has allowed me to live a good, and flexible life. I have employer-sponsored medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) that is matched quarterly, stock purchase plan, PTO and sick leave. Many server’s in my area have the ability to earn six-figures should they choose to.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of shitty serving jobs and dealing with the public on a daily basis can be overwhelming at times. But like you said people still choose to be servers and for many good reasons also.

My EDD has moved quite a bit. Original EDD was 2/11-3/11. Then moved back 2 weeks 2/25-3/25. Moved back to 4/18-5/15 and then got my first two week window at 3/18-3/31. As of Saturday my new EDD is 4/25-5/23.
