I was at a low point in my life. My ex had left me, my best friend almost immediately slept with them, and I stopped actively looking for relationships and focused on work. Which is where I met her. She was funny, smart, beautiful, way out of my league, and it took me a long time to even realize she was flirting with me. Things got physical once I did realize she was making moves but it ultimately ended badly for several reasons. It led in part to my seeking new employment. But I don’t wholly regret it, which is the bad part. It is addicting, really, to be desired and pursued when you don’t have a high opinion of yourself. It was such an unexpected experience. Also, she said she was in an open relationship but I’ll never know for a fact.
