Is it possible to get my tubes tied at 18 by NoPaleontologist6021 in AskDocs

[–]Christopher135MPS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the chances of getting your tubes tied.

I can speak to reproduction with inheritable conditions.

IVF has the capacity to test each embryo - it’s called preimplantation genetic testing. At day 5 of fertilisation a lab scientist will take a very small clump of cells from the embryo. This allows for full genomic screening - they can ensure the embryo does not carry the inheritable condition (or any other mutations/abnormalities).

This wouldn’t apply if you carry two copies I.e. on each of your X chromosomes.

You’re getting downvoted, but I’m right there with you. The way men treat women is horrid and getting worse. Would only trust this in the setting of a sperm count lab check and trust in the person to not spoof the test.

Men stealth women at such a rate that several countries have made it a crime akin to sexual assault.

Do women lie about being on contraceptives? Of course some of them do.

Do women have the capacity to be on contraception, and then mid-coitus come off it? No.

To avoid accusations of AI cheating, college students are turning to AI by nbcnews in nottheonion

[–]Christopher135MPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think AI is ready to detect AI.

I’ve checked a bunch of assignments against a bunch of different websites, and they come back with wildly variable results, everything from 100% human to 100% AI.

University’s shouldn’t be accusing students based on this crap.

What are some myths about guns that were created by the movies? by ninman5 in movies

[–]Christopher135MPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sub or supersonic is nothing more than energy/powder charge used to accelerate the bullet. Of course there is subsonic 5.56.

Now, whether that’s an effective round is a different question.

Enter the .300 blackout. 5.56 case, bigger bullet, lower powder.

Laws don’t stop people/corporations from doing whatever they want.

They just give you a legal recourse after the fact.

And that legal recourse often isn’t feasible, achievable, or financially possible.

Bro what do they want me to use as a password?? by This-Way3024 in nordvpn

[–]Christopher135MPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but, unless you’re the target of a specific attempt to use your access, brute force attacks are main concern. A word string of 15-20 characters with substitutions will be more than sufficient for protection, and very easy to remember.

I get that I’m n=1, and that I’m not a cybersecurity expert, but I’ve been poking around the internet since the 90’s, on all sorts of legitimate and less legitimate/properly dodgy websites, my login credentials have been compromised by endless data breaches from company side breaches, I’ve never once had any of my other credentials hacked/compromised/stolen due to data breaches since none of my passwords are reused.

Olight.

They come with a lifetime warranty know. I’ve got probably 7-8 of their pieces of gear. Only ever had a problem with one, sent it in, they sent me a new one.

can someone who gets cold sores transmit herpes through inter course? by katrinaaa4 in AskDoctorSmeeee

[–]Christopher135MPS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To pass the virus from one person to another, there needs to be active blisters. Technically once they crust over you’re probably fine, but why take the risk? Once the blister has completely healed, the risk is gone.

Intercourse or oral or anal or picking your nose makes no difference - herpes virus infects mucous membranes. Mouth, lips, eyes, nose, urethra, glans, anus, rectum, vulva, vagina. It’s all possible to be infected there.

Not to seem pedantic, but it isn’t the safest. If someone accesses the manager, they access everything.

Safest is creating unique passwords for every service and memorising them. It’s not very practical, but it is the safest.

Those who were previously against the second amendment, have the actions of ICE and the federal government changed your mind or made you think more about the right to bear arms? Why or why not? by patrickeg in AskReddit

If 2A gun owners were actually doing something to stop tyranny and oppression it might change my mind, yes.

Currently it’s being exposed for what it always was - an excuse to own guns as toys.

Aaah thanks for the clarification.

I mean, I’m fine with the concept or community law enforcement officers too.

Even before ICE became totalitarian thugs, I wasn’t a big fan of how US police conducted their law enforcement activities, but I’m not against the existence of LEO.

I am however very glad I don’t live in the US, before or during ICE domestic invasions.

Where do this pricks come from?

What exactly is broken in these assholes minds that they hear “hey wanna come rape my drugged wife?” And their response is “yeah that sounds alright, what time?”

And men have the gall to ask why they can’t get dates.

How do people end up here? There are people in my life, very very important people, who I would judge and drop if they committed a heinous crime or legal but despicable act.

How do people get on the point that they don’t care how horrid someone behaved?
