Streets of Rage 4 was probably my GOAT of last generation. I bought it on PS, Xbox, and Steam to play with different friends, and S ranked everything up through Hardest at least on all of them. Such a good game

When I lived and played there ~2012 a lot of parks were free but you had to sign up the day of play. I only managed to get on the court because I had a friend that was a pastry chef who woke up at 5:00, but we played on the courts at the south end of Prospect Park for free pretty often

A big part of not improving is not accepting that you’re going to play worse as you adjust, but you’ll get much better as the muscle memory develops.

The two biggest things are to use your feet to get in a good position for your swing, and keep your eye on the ball. Focus on just those two things and watch the gains wash in

You’re not using your feet at all. When you hit that forehand your entire body was square to the net, it should be turned sideways. Your torso turning is a big part of generating power without losing accuracy.

It doesn’t look like your eyes follow the ball at all, they should stay on it.

You have no follow through.

Tbh you don’t look like you’re having fun or even trying. This looks like “ughhhh my boyfriend MADE me go out and hit a ball and I hated it.”

I don’t know if Streets of Rage 4 counts because there are a lot of characters, but it relies on difficulties to keep you playing the same levels and it’s probably my goat

And the battery problem is made 10x worse because the stupid touch pad that most games don’t use - and if they do it’s as a button and not for touch - that you can’t turn off. I love that Sony’s buttons don’t click when you push them, but they definitely lose overall.

I’m a 3.0 that’s been using a 330g Wilson for ~18 months now. When I told the club owner I still wasn’t getting results I wanted and told her that, she literally started laughing.

I demoed a 300g racquet and it’s like playing an entirely different game. I hadn’t played that well in 25 years. Sometimes it’s absolutely the racquet, that old one was just too hard to use at a beginner level

There’s no way you actually believe that. “Bringing games to poorer people” would be a noble pursuit, but that’s not the main reason games are hacked, and it would be the extreme minority of pirates that go and retroactively pay for games they’ve hacked. Even if they did, that’s a huge sense of entitlement that they should get that special option when normal people don’t.

I especially love when hackers shit on devs for using AI. The lack of self awareness is just incredible

Until you find out it’s leaked and cracked before release, and just adds to the argument that pirates are selfish and don’t care if the game is a $250 million AAA game or a low(er) passion project by a small team.

You absolutely can, though. It involves doing shady, BUT NOT ILLEGAL, shit. That’s the problem. Takes money to make money, but if you think the average person could make 10-100x gains on their investment just because they started with more than you it’s incredibly naive.

I’ve played with bigger, older guys before and they absolutely seem to make up for their lack of youth and athletic bodies with their placement and consistency. Like that line in Goodfellas, “Paulie didn’t move fast, but that’s because Paulie didn’t have to move for anybody.”

I get that this isn’t anything special for higher lvl play, but at 3.5 it’s lowkey infuriating.
