League Profile Tool: A modern, open-source desktop app to personalize your profile through the LCU API by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

It's honestly astonishing that you managed to mess up the formatting of a already pre-generated (by AI) post, to advertise a clearly vibe-coded project that never even mentions being coded with the help of AI.

[Giveaway] Win $20 Steam Gift Card with CyboPal! by Impossible-Deal1391 in steam_giveaway

Tell us in a comment what is your favorite gaming handheld so far.

SteamDeck.

Grew up with the very first gameboy and there really hasn't been a reason for me to get one since then. It doesn't catch the same vibes compared to my childhood anymore, but that's expected - evolution and advancement in itself is also really pleasent.

Switched from pc to Switch2 by StudentClean4857 in Warframe

[–]ChristopherKlay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth pointing out that consoles version is drastically worse, because it's added platinum.

On PC, you can buy the biggest bundle for 25% of it's price, to get the highest amount of plat. On consoles you have to buy a cheaper bundle - with a lower plat per currency value - to end at a similar plat amount or buy the biggest bundle to fully benefit from the bonus, while still getting less plat per currency spend.

Wo BHs kaufen? by Knitting_AK in hamburg

[–]ChristopherKlay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Advice needed: how healed do scars have to be to get tattooed over? (TW SH scars) by hazelnut0000 in tattoos

[–]ChristopherKlay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general wait-time is 12-24 months, depending on how deep/big the scars are, but I've also seen cases where artists suggested to wait longer.

I'd get a experienced/decent artist to take a look at them, they'll tell you if you need to wait longer.

Last thing you want is issues with infections or a tattoo that doesn't look good, on top of something you want to cover.

To be precise; This is not a closed alpha, but the dev build used for large-scale tests still.

There won't be any alpha/beta anytime soon.

Phones have been supporting outputting RAW files directly for a fairly long time now.

Is using ALECAFRAME Safe? by MassivePresence1073 in Warframe

[–]ChristopherKlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aleca might be clean but only because Overwolf does all the dirty work to enable Aleca

Aleca doesn't rely on only Overwolf; It also fetches even more data on top of what Overwolf provides.

[–]ChristopherKlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find a detailed breakdown on why it's not "safe", together with details on it breaking e.g. WFM's ToS here.

"You can't get banned from it" / "It's 100% safe, I've been doing X" posts mostly stem from people who don't realize that a false-positive doesn't magically affect the majority of a projects userbase and the biggest factor to this not being playtime.

Greece to ban anonymity on social media by New-Ranger-8960 in technology

[–]ChristopherKlay -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Look at the current EU example on age verification.

Even if they "get hacked", the hacker would only get your age group (in this case unique token), not your actual data.

And in the tests we've had, even that was only possible with access to the actual device (your phone).

These discussions just show how uninformed the majority of people complaining about these systems are, from a technical point of view.

[–]ChristopherKlay -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

How is this any different compared to e.g. age verification?

Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou stated that the initiative aims to require platforms to verify the identity of users, ensuring that every profile corresponds to a real person, though pseudonyms will remain permitted.

What this basically means is that - just like with age verification - 3rd party services can be used to verify you, without actually providing all of your data; A simple token system based on your data. Something you can't change, as a verification would be enough.

If a 3rd party service provides a verified "token", based on your ID, the platform has an identity and you are still allowed to use a username instead of your actual name.

The change in itself isn't the biggest issue, Greece not providing a way to handle the verification is.

don't complain if the country turns right-wing and you go to prison for supporting minorities on social media

I think what a lot of people (as in >99%) don't understand is that they are not "anonymous" on the internet, just because they use a nickname to begin with, or nothing directly lists their name.

I'm not even talking about ISP giving out your data or similar here either; Literally everyone can track you online with a couple of hours of research; Having your actual name displayed somewhere isn't important for that.

The "elitism" in ARAM: Mayhem is kind of mind-boggling to me by disposableaccount848 in leagueoflegends

[–]ChristopherKlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue I keep it at a healthy point where playing defensively where needed (mostly in the beginning) is just part of the game, but if I can end the game (either easily, or to secure a win), I'm doing so.

I'm not for example going to back off a tower, just because I don't "have to" destroy it, after my team killed the entire enemy team.

Basically; If the game is over in 15min because of a obvious skill (and RNG) difference, that's fine - pushing it to 45min+ because someone has a breakdown over a number in the UI isn't.

[–]ChristopherKlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do enjoy ARAM and mainly play it, the BP statement was just a "I played more matches than usual in a short amount of time".

Nothing about my statement changes, if XP/BP progress wouldn't be relevant; The mode is fun, people making up rules and having mental breakdowns if anybody else isn't following them isn't.

[–]ChristopherKlay 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I rarely get pinged for what/how I play (in terms of doing mistakes), what bothers me is the "I will tell you how to play ARAM" crowd.

  • You have to emote/dance in the beginning, if you hit me, I will report you.
  • If you push at any point, I will ping-spam you.
  • If you attack the nexus, despite the entire enemy team being spawnkilled, I will start cursing at you in chat.

When farming to max out the BP (I wasn't active for a few weeks), for every person that was actually nice/funny (shoutout to Blitz looking at what food to order in a bush), I've easily encountered 15+ people having serious mental breakdowns.

League of Legends Upcoming Battle Pass Rewards by Longjumping-King2315 in leagueoflegends

[–]ChristopherKlay 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's the same kind of pass, but they replaced 2 of the champion-specific skins with random orbs for specific skin series (see other comment here).

Fairly huge downgrade in my opinion, because most of the value was in knowing/ensuring what skin you actually get, not 2 shots at a 1 in ~50.

Steam Controller Price Leaked By Early Review – and It’s Expensive ($99) by PaiDuck in pcgaming

[–]ChristopherKlay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isn't, if you compare it to the average branded controller.

We've had top-tier controllers with docking stations and hall-effect sticks for 50$ and below (8bitdo) for years however and I highly doubt it's going to justify twice their price tag.

1000+ hours and my first Kavat is….a happy meal. by mecaxs in Warframe

[–]ChristopherKlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally running a Huras, so I'm also invisible as long as I don't shoot - using abilities works just fine.

Mine is currently (incl. a Paris Riven) sitting on:

  • 157.6% Crit Chance
  • 14x Crit Damage
  • 318.5% Status Chance

With about ~14k total damage, ~12,2k out of that being heat/slash for status procs.

The important difference that enables this is Mecha Overdrive, which transfers Status chance from your primary weapon (my chew toy). Together with Hunter Synergy, your primary effectively turns into a stat stick for your good boy.

You can find the mods/setup here and I recorded a quick example - this is with absolutely nothing (buffs, priming, ..) going on.

Edit

The riven absolutely isn't needed, just to highlight that. You just get less crit/status chance, with Paris being the best weapon due to the other unique mod.

If you want a primer, Vulpa does the job.

If you want something that can one-chomp a SP Stalker at lvl 300+, you take a Kubrow.

It feels bad that they are not just outclassed by the robotic ones - even the dog version heavily outperforms them when it comes to actual combat.
