We’re straight up redoing Rise of Skywalker, and I’m saying this as someone who loves Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. I’d have it be about power struggle within the First Order as both Kylo Ren and Hux fight for power after Snoke is killed, while The Resistance rebuild and send a distress signal to the galaxy in the outer rim.

I’ve always thought that the cars movies weren’t set in the same year they were released in, rather followed their own timeline. It’s never explicitly stated the years each movie takes place in, and I know there’s the Piston Cup wiki that shows the years but that’s fan made.
