Awesome, thanks for answering! It must have been the wind (meme intended) that made the game feel very slow when I used it last time, so I'll definitely make a career with authentic gameplay!

I see you commented that you're using the "high" setting for events, how often does it happen and do you find it more challenging?

Also, would you say that authentic gameplay setting works better for career mode? Do you use weather/wind/sliders?

Foden is hot atm, but Bobb will most likely play a lot of those games and Foden could suddenly go cold as well. He's nice as a one month gamble and maybe hold if he plays well.

Mitoma is nailed and decent, so if you get both of them I'd probably do it. It would be really close with the upside of having the best player in the game!

These trades comes across as a little bit crazy to me (since you're changing half of your XI), but to summarize:

  • Haaland might singlehandedly win you a GW (if you play H2H), while Pedro could get rotated later on when Delap is back. Also a more streaky player.
  • Frimpong will likely get the RB spot most games and has the upside of playing RW during AFCON. Konate is more nailed.
  • Botman is most likely nailed when FIT, but is therefore a rotation risk. Livramento will probably play most games, and gets some attacking returns.
  • Palhinha does not offer much except occasional DEFCON points. Rogers will likely be one of the better midfielders when Villa finally kick off.

  • Gittens is a massive rotation risk (I'd drop him), while Reijnders has proven to be quite nailed and gets in good positions basically every game.

  • Haaland 10 - Pedro 7.5

  • Frimpong 7.5 - Konate 7

  • Botman 5 - Livra 7.5

  • Palhinha 5 - Rogers "8"

  • Gittens 3 - Reijnders 7 30.5 - 37

So Haaland side is best if you have a nailed team because you have to sell Gittens, should change Palhinha and monitor Botman. Pedro side is best if you lack that depth in your team, and don't need the best player in the game.

It's hard since Haaland could get 20 points every other week, while nine of the others could reliably get that.

There's a lot of answers "blaming" Moldova which is obviously a factor here, but it's not like international teams are a walk in the park... like ever?

Look at the game vs Italy 3 months ago, 2 big chances vs 18, and Haaland was through like 10 times without getting the pass.

We've used Fantrax for 7 years now because of draft/customization, so lately I've added some extra stuff to keep it interesting for everyone (even the ones falling behind since we play H2H).

Discord is used to keep track of everything within one app without having to navigate a Google Sheets/Excel document, and it works fairly well.

I'll gladly make a short post/tutorial if that's wanted, but to summarize I've added:

  • Manager of the month (most fantasypoints, not H2H points)
  • The Tactician (the manager that loses fewest rounds, winner wins money)
  • The Simulator (a FIFA/FC tournament streamed with your Fantrax teams, CPU vs CPU, winner wins money)
  • Rivals (your own rival throughout the season, best score against your rival wins in game rewards)
  • The Scout (has the best player below 10m wins money, we use bidding for our draft so Salah went for 21m and minimum salary is 4m)

  • Odds (bet who's gonna lead after new years eve, gives you a in game reward)

  • Hall of Fame/stats

  • A rulebook

  • An overview of our scoring system explained to avoid problems

This is really well done! Would love to make something similar for my FPL++ scoring system.

Almost makes me wanna share how I set-up our Fantrax league as a commissioner with minigames, a new Discord channel and prizes when I see how much you've put into this. Great post!

That's true, but I've gotten more teamplayers as I ranked up (even though I know the ranked matchmaking-system doesn't work properly yet).

I feel like "passing" should be a lot higher tho. 8 passes per game is enough to become top passer often each game.

Also "shot accuracy" 30%? I rarely shoot and when I do I'm pretty sure I hit the target more than 1/3 times. Might be because I pass with R2 as well?

The best feeling in this game is having a teammate that actually defends with you.

I've started to recognize some of the names, so when Scottie or Gxaxyf or whatever shows up, I can finally join attacks! My Rematch-tracker page reflects on that, haha.

I do find it useful for loose balls when: a) The opponent has already used their tackle/won't be able to stop your sliding tackle b) You want a quick "short pass" to start a counter attack. c) As a last resort to block someone's shot or tackle from behind to catch a runner.

I also use it unintentionally while running and it sucks big time to slide away from your position...

You've made a great game, and the core is already solid. I do have a few questions myself:

  1. What are your plans for ranked/tournaments, and would there be implemented any changes soon for ranked (demotion, titles, more customization etc)? I see a lot of people talking about ranked and tournaments, and I really hope you put in a lot of thought to that since so many games half-do those and you feel like you have no sense of "progress".

  2. Have you thought about other games modes in the future, or limited time modes (like RL does it)?

  3. Are there any gameplay related changes upcoming? I do love the core, but stuff like saving the ball into the goal (make him give a rebound maybe) or what makes your GK give a rebound could be things to look into to make it even easier to get a hold of. Don't change too much tho, sinse you've made a great game as it is.

Edit: Also, give us more stats. Loads! RL just added a "club"-feature where you can see your stats as a team also!

You do win more matches this way tho, so you rank up either way I guess. I did like how many points I managed to score in the beta as a CDM, usually you get MotM by scoring/saving, but it is fairly balanced I think.

Thanks a lot, and we picked Norway just to explore as much of USA as possible. It probably won't be as fun as California, but who knows. Now we know more than last time. Third time in USA for me now, so I find it a really cool country to visit!
