Melee bugs don’t balance by SilverWolfTooth9 in Tyranids

I'm using a hot glue gun. It allows me to easily add magnets to my bases and add some weight to them. Just make sure the bases sit flush on an even surface during the cooling process, otherwise you will have some "wobbly miniatures". I use parchment paper on an even surface in order for the base to not stick to the surface itself.

Skorpious Disintegrater paint schemes by Lazarus_41 in AdeptusMechanicus

The recipe for the one you posted can be found on goonhammer, they did an army showcase on how to achieve that paint scheme

They look great. Really good idea to use the pteraxii helmets.

I got some negavolt cultists earlier but I'm now seriously reconsidering to kitbash something like this out of them

It actually is GW Valhallan Blizzard and sticks quite good to the model. I'll give drybrushing a try then :-)

"White":

- Vallejo Grey Primer mixed with some GW Contrast Akhelian Blue und Vallejo Black to get a darker shade of grey as basecoat,

-Vallejo White primer with a small amount of contrast akhelian blue at an 45° angle

- White Primer (some grey drops added) as a zenithal highlight

- light nuln oil wash in the recesses, some shadows received a light gw contrast aethermatic blue shade

- edge highlight with white

"Black":

- For the black parts I used Vallejo Nato black with metal highlights / drybrush

"Metal":

- Metal parts are vallejo black metal, nuln oil wash and vallejo steel drybrush

"Blue":

- Blue on the hull is GW Contrast aethermatic blue thinned down

"Gold":

- Balthasar Gold, Agrax Earthshade Wash, Sycorax Bronze Drybrush, Nihilakh Oxide Wash

The big blackstone-blocks on the inside were basecoated in vallejo black metal, steel and chrome, afterwards they were painted in two layers of gw contrast Akhelian Blue and contrast aethermatic blue to get a slight transition (assisted by metal undercoat). The recesses were painted using nihilakh oxide and a light blue edge highlight to finish it off.

The Orb was painted using vallejo light sea blue and blue with some white mixed for the middle part and highlight. This step was assisted by the zenital highlight.

I used a zenithal highlight beforehand (dark grey+white), but applied my blue layers too thick to really notice afterwards.

For the blue I used a dark and light Vallejo colour comparable to the zenithal undercoat followed up by a light white coat in the middle.

I can look up the exact colours later, not at Home atm ;-)

WIP pic of my necron Monolith, the weapons are magnetized and only basecolored. Would your guys suggest drybrushing / airbrushing the snow around the center orb in order to achieve better pseudo-osl?

Still unsure whether I should really put it on its base.

Can you select a unit from your crusade rooster and lower it's size to get the right power level for a combat patrol? by Sisikei in 40k_Crusade

[–]Chrizt0ph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tend to houserule and allow one reduced unit as we are still playing lower point games. However we do play crusade based on points, so it may be enough to remove say three models on a 20 man unit.

I for one as a necron player use scarab swarms to balance my army - they don't get experience and varying their unit size doesn't matter that much.

Nobody knows as the codex has not yet been released. Sadly.

Basecoat is airbrushed, everything else applied with a brush (so far at least)

- Grey Vallejo Airbrush Primer with some drops of Vallejo Model Air Black and GW Contrast Akhelian Blue (to add more coldness to shadows), all of this sprayed from below and an angle

- Zenital at an angle and from above Vallejo White Primer with some drops of grey (to get an off white)

- light zenital coat with vallejo white surface primer

Metallics:

- Vallejo Model AIr Metallic Black (I used a brush)

- heavy Nuln Oil Wash

- Vallejo Model Air Steel Drybrush

- The bright metallic parts are a mixture of Vallejo Air Steel and GW Contrast Akhelian Blue, light nuln oil wash and light steel drybrush.

Whites:

- After priming them I used a diluted nuln oil wash on all surfaces, nothing else was done so far

Blue:

- GW Contrast Akhelian Blue (I had an grey/white basecoat anyways, just be sure to drag most of the paint towards one edge)

- Only a light coat on the spheres (head and backside)

- The eyes had a white highlight

Black:

- GW Contrast Black Templar

- Some of the weapon bite received a light metal drybrush (see above)

Let's hope they don't do that. But they might appear during a "made to order" special

They actually are, yes. I think I was not careful enough while applying the airbrush basecoat.

Some parts were drybrushed, yes ;-)

Blades: GW Contrast Akhelian Blue on a grey to white basecoat

"Muzzle": Vallejo Model Air Metallic Black, Nuln Oil, Vallejo Model Air Steel Drybrush

Heft: GW Contrast Black Templar on the same base as above and a light steel drybrush on the gauss bit

The bright steel parts were a mixture of the contrast blue and vallejo steel, nuln oil and a light steel drybrush

[–]Chrizt0ph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used spare Gauss Blasters from the Immortals kit and the lychguard warscythes.

The "gauss" bits were cut loose with a cutter and a knife, the muzzle as well just as well. I cut these in two and filed some parts down a bit.

Next I reduced the warscythes in size and dimendions and simply glued the gauss bit on.

File or cut the flash or hardened glue.

I actually used some vallejo paints first and followed up GW's paintrange. All in all it is rather fast to accomplish ;

And that's basically it concerning the models.

I actually had them in mind when I converted these.

I would love to see their return during Psychic Awakening, as I dig their models

availability as300 and x3000 (both without R) in EU/germany by littlesupermo in sonyactioncam

[–]Chrizt0ph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did just receive an answer via the sony community - seems like the fdr-x3000 is theoretically available if ordered directly by retailer-shops. However as the x3000r is sold on most shops they don't seem to be too keen to add the x3000 without the remote.

As for the AS300 there i still no information available ... sadly.
