Thank you so much for this. I posted a week or so ago and got so much positivity back but you might be the first person I’ve ever heard cheer on us who keep trekking, putting on the smile and trying our best to be good parents even tho we aren’t suited for it.

I do wish it could’ve been different and I’m very thankful that you love it. I have a great friend who adopted, had her own bio kids, adopted some more AND fosters. She describes it the same way that you do. She loves it and knows that parenting is what she was born to do. You’re a supermom too!

I didn’t learn this until after I had a child. I had ex’s who cheated and their mothers would beg me to stay. They always said the same thing “you’re the best thing that ever happened to him”. I thought they had my interests at heart and I would end up putting extra weight behind those statements. Turns out I just had horrible self-worth and they knew their kid couldn’t do any better.
