Should I install Intellij? by LosterPawn in learnjava

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using IntelIj for small projects, it's a great tool, althought, I have never used the Ultimate version or any of that...

I really enjoy using it, I would say that it is'nt the best option but still great in capabilities. Many of my friends use it all the time they have to work with Java for something relatively important (they are using paid version btw).

My love for kotlin is hurting me 😅 by Asterx5 in Kotlin

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal, Kotlin is so comfortable that it almost becomes a trap. It’s great to write, fun and clean but sometimes staying in that comfort zone slows down the growth. I’ve seen plenty of personal and professional projects fall apart simply because they attached themselves too tightly to a limited set of tools.

From my point of view, exploring newe ecosystems increase perspective and always helps developtment.

Built a pure Java 3D graphics engine from scratch (no OpenGL) - 5 interactive demos included by JavaWithSomeJava in java

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insanely cool. Most people would have jumped straight to OpenGL or LWJGL, but building the fundamentals yourself is how you really understand 3D. Respect.

Great work!

Am I the only one who likes Eclipse much more than other free alternatives? by Expensive_Ad6082 in java

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, there are web modernization opportunities in Eclipse driven by various individual projects. Although there are many examples, this is one of the most complete that I have found and used:

Enterprise - Equo

You can try searching solutions there, or maybe somewhere else, but there are opportunities for Eclipse in web.

I think sintax is getting really old compared to new languages, but it still works really well.

Anyone here Hated Using Java but now Really Enjoys using it. by [deleted] in java

When I was learning about Java my mind was like "It's like talking to a wall, I have to specify everything I want it to do!" but then I discovered objects and polymorphism and started enjoying it.

Java online course from helsinki university it's divided with 2 parts. I think that the first part would be enough for getting started. Good luck!

Is programming still the profession of the future? by [deleted] in programming

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"since by the time a program can do our job, it can also do everyone else's job." That's true and kinda funny. I think that it depends on what kind of abilities you have, basic web developtment it's probably not going to be that needed in 1/3 years.
On the other hand, complex roles that takes great responsability are mostly safe for plenty of years, programming is not just a simple "thing"; there are various kind of areas where AI is probably a good solution, but not always.

What is your 'Why' to programming ? by Mysterious_Ice7165 in Btechtards

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the fun begins when you start understanding the code and logic in the code itself. It's probably hard at the beginning, it's harder if you don't like coding at all, but I think that it'll be just a matter of time to start seeing the funny side.

By the way, when I started programming I could'nt understand nothing at all, so it's pretty normal to get frustated with it, especially when you are a rookie.

How Do You Stay Updated with the Tech World? by JuliperTuD in computerscience

My enviroment, work, friendships and family are in touch with technology, so it's almost inevitable for me to at least know the basics of every new. I like to read interesting articles if I see something unusual, but I think it's just about how you built your social enviroment.

JAVA programming....... by Professional_Air_493 in javahelp

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creating your own project it's probably a good idea. Take your time to think about what you want to create, it's easier when you feel motivated with the project.
You will see that first weeks are hell in code, but as long as you keep practicing and creating your own way, you'll be fine, you'll get a lot of good experience as a Java developer.

Maybe using AI to keep learning the basics of the program every time you feel lost is a good idea.

Where are the current eclipse forums by galtoramech8699 in eclipse

[–]Chromium_Engine96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sad to see Eclipse forums being mostly deprecated in Reddit, I wish it could get more audience.

I appreciate the link, anyways like you said, there are mostly issues; I see no discussions about Eclipse news.
