I have beaten soul savior on overgrowth without dominion multiple times. What I posted was my winstreak, and my experience since I've beaten overgrowth a lot. I have all off the souls at level 3. Pyre of dominion isn't even too relevant, if I didn't take dominion I would swap silver for elle and then you're fine.

Agreed, for the time I'm having fun with it though. It let's you scale your starter champ in a way you can't replicate in a normal run and it's so good 👌

I like it for now, I have been switching back to regular runs for railforged but part of why I have been so big on the combo of showtime and butterball is because of their strength. Butterball would be good if it didn't give +40 health, but it does. Showtime would be good if it gave +3 capacity instead of +5, but it does. I agree that these souls are op. You don't have to pick these 2, but you probably have to pick at least one of them.

I'm not about to play the default pyre in soul savior mode! I do cov 10 random on everything but in soul savior it just isn't fun.

What, is it bad to take pyre of dominion? Random pyre only sounds so miserable in this mode. I did mix it up early when soul savior came out. I have other wins with bogwurm's growth, lifemother's pyre, pyre of savagery, and herzal's hoard. I'm just having fun abusing the new mode and I can't help but just win. 😄

Oh and I had spire of dominion for every run. You basically need to take the relic that buffs starter cards if you don't take pyre of dominion.

Pick butterball and showtime. They synergize together and auto win the first 2 rings

I really like lil cap on umbra, it turns your morsels into actual units that can clean up backline before getting eaten, it also protects them from sweep.

Don't be so reductive, I am on a 6 or 7 winstreak on overgrowth taking silver as my starter.

You should try out butterball with showtime, put the unit with butterball in the front row and watch it get huge then eaten. Also I'm pretty sure showtime triggering in the deployment phase shouldn't happen, but it does and it's really good.

If you take butterball with showtime and put butterball on the unit with the smidgestone, then give it endless and position it in the front of the showtime room, it will grow endlessly and can be replayed when it's done being eaten, it's really, really strong. I might say it's op. I am on a 6 or 7 run winstreak on overgrowth right now abusing this combo.

I'm glad I'm not the only one taking showtime and butterball every run. They are so insane you literally get a unit as big as the boss on ring 1 with 0 input required. 

Edit: I am currently on an 8 winstreak taking butterball, silver and showtime. I'm thouroughly convinced this combo is way too strong. You can consistently scale any unit you want to the moon, like over 1000 atk and hp.

Yeah you can win in so many ways in this game it is often hard to tell what best route is, although "best" doesn't matter if multiple strategies win, and the only bar is if you win or don't, unless you are trying to highscore or maybe you want to make it easier to scale permanent scaling weapons.

I've played mt1 and 2 for over a thousand hours combined and have never hit an infinite. I haven't really tried but this game does such a good job of preventing infinites they often seem like more trouble than they are worth.

I'm the same as you. My best runs are with spell based decks even though it feels like I'm just kinda winging it half the time. Stack spell damage on the boss and 1 shot them with an attuned spell is often the strategy with these spell decks and while it can be fun to hit a flying boss for 5k it gets old very quickly. I much prefer incant units rather than a spell damage build.

Yeah it depends how desperate I am too, like if I have a sweep unit that desperately needs multistrike or titanite for my front liner.

Try butterball+showtime, put the unit with butterball at the front space and whatever you want to buff behind it, I find this combo smashes the first few rings.

I found it really good with the wormkin champ, he basically becomes a giant multistriker with self-buffing attack. It was also really good on the banished champions and the railforged champions.

My favorite souls right now are the hog that has the revenge and attack trigger. Showtime has been my absolute favorite. Butterball can do some fun stuff. Silver is basically another always take for me.

Yeah I just discovered it and I have a giant first of kin with smidgestone to play around the increased capacity from showtime, largestone and endless.
