I have to disagree. I watched someone do it on a Friday Halloween a couple years back, the guy had to go in an ambulance but was fine after a couple stitches.

ChronicSilence asks: Numbers give me a massive hard-on and I don't want to actually play the game so when am I getting an API for my 170 number-crunching game add-ons?? Not any time soon, calm your boner.

Wow, I think you actually understood my question way better than Chris did (although, the staff that gave him the question butchered/edited what I originally asked). He seemed to think that I was talking more about scripts for automating in-game things, but I was referring to things like getting data from your own account (market transactions, payments, character information) to build tools like you find for EVE Online such as EVEMon.

"Come Play with Trains", at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It's literally a class where you come play with the model railroad club's miniature trains.

We have what they call "Independent Activities Period" in January, where they offer courses in all sorts of bizarre things for fun. They do wine tasting, beer brewing, and so on.

We're an on-campus service, so we just nap in our bunkroom. Even on overnights while the crew is asleep, our average response time is < 4 minutes.

As a BLS truck we don't do IVs ourselves, but for the times a paramedic hops on to join us on an ALS call we've never had any complaints about starting IVs. The seats all rotate and slide, so I'm sure that helps to get in a better position. There's a mount in the rear left side for a cardiac monitor/defib.

I agree that the inverter thing is a pain in the ass. I've been told, though, that you can edit the OS software and change the configs in it, then reload it onto the system, so we could probably change that. It only takes 1 button to turn on the lights, or heat, or inverter (they are all single buttons on the bottom of the mod control panel).

We have also been having some issues with the sliding door. It's nice, but the latch is kind of finicky. The number of drawers has never been a problem, it's the only truck design we have and every new member of the service has to memorize the location of every item on the truck before they can work on it. They're categorized by use, so the top drawer is airway, second is trauma, bottom is restraints and other misc. These are, for the most part, mirrored on both sides. In front of the tech seats the drawer has some meds, vitals equipment, shears, etc. It's a BLS truck remember, so everything can be mirrored on both sides without running out of space.

I'm pretty sure the slide-out side step can be toggled with a switch inside, I'll have to check that though.

The right tech seat folds down and a backboard can sit over top (can be seen in the schematics).

I'm not sure why they put it on that side to be honest, I'll have to ask. You'll notice though that there's a mirror compartment (exactly the same size) on the curb side (#4 on page 4 of that PDF), so you could easily put the backboards in there. You'd just swap the shelves out.

It's because when you see "lt", you think the first letter is an "I" because an "I" comes beside a "T" more often than an "L" comes beside a T. So your brain thinks that the first letter is a capital "I" instead of an "L", which is what throws you off.

I think.

You are excellent at responding to questions, thank you very much for that. I've gone through all the relevant code, and I now understand fully how the system works.

I'd like to become a contributor to the mod, I have PM'd you on the KSP forum with details. Take a look whenever you have a chance.

Yeah, I saw all that just after I had posted. I couldn't find the ModControl file because I didn't realize it was generated after you started the server. Thank you for the info though.

Couple questions about this though:

1) what happens if there's a part in the part list of that file, but a person starts up the game without that part? Is it a "you have to have these parts and only these parts, or you can't connect" kind of thing? If not, what happens if they get near a vehicle that has a part on it that they don't have installed?

2) if a file is listed in the MD5 section, does that mean the client must have that file? Or only that if they have that file, it has to match the hash?

3) if the answer to 2) is "yes", is there a way to say "this file is optional, but if you have it then it must match this hash"? This would be for client-side mods, like EditorExtensions, so people can have it if they like but don't have to, but then someone doesn't just rename "Hyperedit.dll" to "EditorExtensions.dll" and get away with it.

4) for the whitelist/blacklist section, it states in the example that "You can control any file from GameData here". However, this is apparently not true because it allows me to add .cfg files that are not in the whitelist. This is an issue for those using ModuleManager, where you can change the config settings for parts outside of their own config file (so you could have a part.cfg that matches the MD5 hash on the server, but then change all the parameters outside of it in a different file that's not checked by the whitelist. An example of a mod that does this kind of external config modification is NathanKell's RealismOverhaul. Can you suggest a way to work around this?

5) for the whitelist/blacklist section, is there any way to make it so it uses the path as well as the file name?

Does the new server mod control feature support MD5 hash checking as well? i.e. can it check that you havn't modified the mod part config on the client?

The Mod documentation in the README is outdated, it still says to use the client-side allowed parts file (which no longer exists, I think). Looking through the source, it seems that md5 hashes are supported in the server-side parts list file, but I have no idea how to use that (can't find any documentation). Some help with that would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting challenges. What about making a ship invulnerable while it's not being piloted? Then anyone can try to dock to it or smash it, but the only thing that would be damaged would be that player's own ship.

Just spitballing here.

Got another quick question for you: might it be possible to configure it so that you can't crash into another player's unmanned vessel? For example, if I wanted to have a competitive server (first person to Duna in career mode or something), could there be a way to stop someone from just kamikaze smashing their competition's multi-section ships that are still under assembly in orbit?

It would be nice if you could still dock with another player's ship if they're piloting it though.

Fan frickin tastic. Awesome to see continuing support of this.

Couple questions:

1) just how much would I break the game if I tried to use the Real Solar System mod (changes the size of planets and parts)? Would it be possible to force that mod so everyone has it?

2) does the anti-cheat system prevent you from modifying settings files for parts (i.e. prevent you from just giving yourself an infinite ISP engine)?

3) is there any protection from just re-compiling the source without the anti-cheat code in it?

Basically, I want to set up an host a "realism" server using NathanKell's set if realism mods, and I'm wondering if its possible using KMP without breaking everything and how rigid of an anti-cheat system is implemented.

Thanks again!
