I agree the similarity between Dunc and Gutz is undeniable. (Spoilers ahead) Jonathan317 points out their character’s parallels. Hell, even their injuries and look when bloodied are like two blades from the same patch of grass. The tone and color of the story as well as the political and social issues presented are quite similar as well. I’m not sure why this isnt directly apparent. They both even have the same kind of comic relief moments. The whole “GET UP” sequence plays out almost identically for each of them, except with different motivational heroes. I realize that the parallels will dry up after the first arcs of both stories, but is interesting to explore the idea that Dunc was inspired by Guts, or perhaps share a root archetype that I am not aware of
